I absolutely loved the entire novel, and to be honest, I am looking forward to enjoying any other books Tom S. Church decides to write in the future

Return to Canifis was an excellent sequel to the first RuneScape novel, Betrayal at Falador, and personally speaking, I would advise you read Betrayal at Falador as well, since it's another excellent novel.
However, Return to Canifis is understandable without having to have read Betrayal at Falador, so if you only wish to enjoy Return to Canifis, go for it!
Personally, I love the RuneScape novels and definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to indulge in a novel that takes place in a familiar environment with familiar characteristics.
That being said, if you're looking for a great novel, I guarantee you will enjoy all 560 pages of Return to Canifis.
