A few programs I suggest:
1.Recording
Fraps - has a good quality, but yet the file size for 5 seconds can be up to 100mb
CamStudio - this program is pretty good, records in high detail, low file size...(I use Fraps, just to show off. Haha.)
2.Editing
Sony Vegas - you can use any version of Sony Vegas, but I don't sugest you take the latest version because it doesn't have the "mask" option, which you could use it for loads of things! The one I use is Sony Vegas Pro 9 which has loads of effects and transitions which are very useful.
Adobe After Effects - This program is a little better than Sony Vegas because of the Camera option, which allows you to shoot different angles, or make it 3D, which is useful to make your own place, world...etc.
3. Voice Recording
Wavepad - it's good for recording the voice since it has Noise Reduction and effects you could use.
AudaCity - it's the same as wavepad, I don't know what's the difference between them.
