EDIT: To Excl this post, or any other Machinma maker browsing this thread.
I've only watched one or two of your vids, and you seem like many other RS or any type of Machinima video maker that uses voices in the vids to have the same trait - the voices always have that slightest sound to them that isn't 100% clear, and to the audience you know they're using a mic...if you get what I mean.
When you watch TV shows or movies, or even some Abridged vide series' on YouTube, the voices are very clear and (yes they do use them) to the audience there's no obvious signs that they use microphones.
Would someone going for that really clear voice for the vids need to look into an extremely high quality microphone like a studio mic or can it be done with a £10 Alba PC mic from somewhere like Argos or any other big general store?

To Wout:
Not sure what you were on about. I think you want to record you drawing like lines, circles etc on the world map for part of your video using Paint.
For that, maybe Hypercam or Camtasia would work. It's like what some peeps use for speed drawing vids etc I would assume.
EDIT: Also sort of like when some peeps make tutorial vids or to some extent, video conferencing etc. Like you draw a line, circle or highlight etc to bring attention to something. Should be doable in Hypercam or Camtasia, not familiar with Fraps but if it's the same, I don't see why it wouldn't work with Fraps.

Hmm...
No matter the size of the region I choose in CamStudio, it always looks really quite blurry and pixelated in the Sony Vegas preview box...
Is this normal?
And if not, is there any way that I can fix this?

Abezeth you need to download the CamStudio LossLess codec. Its in the site where you downloaded the actual program.
Then when you open up Camstudio you go to
Options>Video Options> Then choose the Lossless Codec for the compressor.
And if you're editing with sony vegas it wont work because it doesn't recognize the file.
So what you do is open that clip you recorded on Windows Movie Maker, then publish it. Then you can put it onto Sony Vegas.
Hope i helped :D

@ Wout and others talking about CamStudio.
CamStudio won't have the best quality, but it should get you by. Make sure you download the CamStudio codec, and adjust the Recorder settings and options to make sure you have the highest possible quality set. Fraps will only work with a rendered window, so it's not going to work on Photoshop, or even Runescape in a non-HD view.

@ Akhet
Yes, the better the mic the better the recording. Good studio mics can cost several hundred dollars and are also used in sound studios which cost several thousand dollars.
Since most of us don't have that kind of money to throw around, a cheaper PC mic will have to do. You can do decent noise filtering with a program like Wavepad and it's not as bad as it could be.
