Character name/title - Nero "White Phoenix" Umbra / Kronos (Hex Breaker Name)

Age - 22

Religion - Nero doesn't follow any gods, seeing them as trouble, and in part to considering himself a god of trickery.

D&D Alignment - Lawful Neutral

Race - Human

Gender - Male

Personality - Nero appears to be a typical 18 year old at first, arrogant and all talk and no bite. But as someone gets to know him, they'd see he's cautious, never getting into anything unless he knows there's no risk. And if he considers them a friend, they'll notice he's always got his friends best interests in mind.

Appearance - Long black hair, blue eyes. And the appearance of an 18 year old. Before the sixth age, Nero would usually wear mage clothes. But once the turning of ages came, he began wearing clothing akin to common folk in order to blend in with the crowd.

Profession: Hex Breaker/Mercenary

Strengths -

Adept Fire Magic: Nero is versed in fire magic, using various variations, one called Hard Light. While extremely weak and fragile against stone and metal, it can be used to lay traps to fight against other mages.

Light Illusions: One of Nero's illusion abilities stemming from his knowledge of fire magic, Nero can bend light and form images. These images are not physical, and can be broken with a mere touch. In order to counter this, Nero camouflages himself by bending light around him. Nero is not, however, invisible and can still be seen if someone looks around for distortions. So far these are Nero's only illusions within this type.

Basic Mental Manipulation: Nero is capable of getting into a persons mind and influencing them. To an extent. He cannot force anyone to do something they don't want to do, like murder or theft. He'd have to make them think that it's what they want. Of course, this type of manipulation cannot be done in the heat of battle, for many reasons. The most common type of mental manipulation Nero uses is mental illusions.

Character name/title - Astraedon

Age - 37

Religion - he used to follow bandos but after he prayed for his wife to survive the plague and his son once they both died in his arms he decided for himself there was no god

D&D Alignment - neutral

Race - minotaur

Gender - male

Personality - he's friendly to those he trusts but don't get in front of him when he's mad he has a very short temper and dislikes dragons and dwarfs he's a very sturdy and bearing person mostly quiet and withholding he enjoys being alone but if an ally calls he will come running

Appearance -he has 2 dark horns one broken off halfway his fur on his legs is a Smokey black color and his skin is very tanned

Profession: he's a very skilled fighter and a skilled sailor

Strengths - being very strong he can knock down larger opponents and lift heavier objects

Weaknesses - magic and dragons are his 2 main weaknesses he's also shunned by most for being a minotaur so he isn't very social in the sense

History - astraedon was a sailor and fisherman in his home country for many years he raised a son with his wife there and followed bandos until one day a plague swept through the lands and he lost his son and wife to the sickness he then decided bandos was a myth and threw his necklace into the sea later that year he was enslaved by the dwarfs as a war beast and astraedon has seen many battles and he has faced things no man should come across but he always prevailed but never once has he forgotten his wife and son which still haunts him to this day

These illusions would be more difficult to dis-spell, but cannot do any real harm. If the target knows they're illusions, they have no affect. Nero commonly uses this to create distractions to either run, or quickly defeat opponents.

Weapon Use: Being a magic user, Nero relies on runes and Vis to use magic. In order to make his supply last, Nero carries a few weapons on him so he's never defenseless. These weapons include his Phoenix Blade, Trick Spear, and into the 6th age, a small crossbow.

Healing/Durability: Nero is capable of healing and withstanding injuries. While this would seem impressive, there is an extend to this feat. The more serious the injury, the greater the setback. And example would be a broken arm. Nero can heal it within minutes, but the arm would still have to go through a period of rest akin to it's normal healing period, causing the arm to be dead weight for weeks. Another example would be a sword to the chest. A normal human would die, but Nero would survive (Unless he's stabbed so much the area is mince meat) but would blackout from the pain.

Weaknesses -

Magic: Being created by a cursed object can have a lot of benefits. A weakness to magic, however, is not. Nero's physical body is similar to that of a demons, it was made from magic energy, and thus can be destroyed by such energy.

Youth: Somewhat of a perk, Nero will never age. While that could be seen as a blessing, it has caused, and will cause, mental trauma to Nero. The inevitability of seeing all his friends and family die, while he'll go on longer than them. It's part of the reason Nero considers himself a god, he's cursed to lose those he cares about.

A very different character in comparison to our current pool of characters but for a first application it's not too bad and there's nothing we can't fix, and i've spoken to you in-game about it all already so, good job, and consider yourself accepted.

History - 22 Years before the 6th Age, Nero was created by a group of mages stumbling upon a magic relic. The relic was capable of forming life, something anyone would want. But the beings made were always twisted variations of those who've touched the object, and would eventually burn out within a few months. Nero, however, was different. Unlike those before him, he possessed a soul, or at least, a fragment of one. Upon his creation, Nero was confused, and could not separate who he was from what he was, a living being or a creature who desired nothing more than mindless slaughter. The pain of slowly burning out however, allowed him take control. Because of this, he was nearly killed by the others made by the relic. Out of a desire to live, he sought out the group that caused his birth. The Wizards Tower. There, he helped them track down and destroy the abominations. And as per their agreement, the mage Connor Hathaway placed a seal on Nero, locking away his lust for murder and a majority of his magical prowess, forcing him to train in order to survive. And it was then he took on the name Nero. For a few months Nero moved around, not wanting to make attachments to people, fearful that they might harm him. It was from this isolation that he grew bitter towards the world, and started stealing. Eventually, out of a desire to end his isolation, Nero confronted the Wizards Tower. He joined them and began working for them. It started out small due to their lack of trust towards him. But over time they began to treat him like their own. So much so that Roe Umbra, Nero's original, treated him as a brother, and he took on the last name Umbra. Eventually, Nero was forced to go underground once the Magic Council began looking into the Tower, but still did jobs to Connor Hathaway under the threat of being exposed to the Council. It was through these jobs that a group called Arcane Historia was founded.

Within the last two years, the Council set up a group called Hex Breakers, mages who had the authority of the Council. These mages were allowed to take on any number of jobs without question. And the one who came up with the idea was Connor Hathaway. Unknown to the Council, the Hex Breakers are members of Arcane Historia. Nero was Connor's test subject to these so-called "Hexer Trials". Nero underwent the trials, the first involved him needing to break an illusion, the second was a test of his fighting skill. It was from this he was given the rank of 0, the Hex Breaker that didn't exist. Over the next few months, 12 mages passed the first trial and were granted title and a rank. Since then, Nero has taken on job after job, which eventually lead him to Sarim to look after Connor's daughter, Aurora.

And now into the 6th age, Nero fears what is to come, for mage and man a like.

Love the application. Accepted. As me and you are the only ones very interested in the wizard's tower and magic council etc etc, talk to me in-game some time soon and we'll set something up. I'll save a place for the Hex Breakers on one of the thread's front pages.

Character name/title – Aoife Sloan, the Adventurer.

Age - 22

Religion – Raised Saradominist.

D&D Alignment – Lawful Good, slowly shifting towards Neutral Good.

Race – Human.

Gender – Female.

Personality - Youthful and outgoing, Aoife is naive about many things but curious about far more. She has a desire to learn and develop her skills. Coupled with her need to help others, she is always willing to lend a hand with an odd task or problem. She isn't afraid to speak freely, but she knows when to listen in return. Because she is so driven by her emotions, she often makes irrational decisions. While she can be stubborn and headstrong, she only has the best intentions in mind.

Appearance - Strawberry blonde hair cascades past her shoulder blades, and green eyes peak past side-swept bangs. She has fair skin, and her slightly upturned nose is spotted with freckles. She is of average height (5’4”) and weight for a woman her age, but she shows evidence of gaining muscle from mediocre training sessions in her youth and traveling as an adult. If she isn’t wearing armor, she usually wears trousers and a blouse for ease of movement.

Profession – Sort of a hired-hand for whatever work she can find.

Strengths – Empathy and compassion.

Weaknesses - Combat skills.

History - Part of a small family of wealthy non-nobility from Varrock, Aoife was the only of three Sloan children to do exactly what her parents didn't want - become an adventurer. Her brother went to work for their father, and her sister married another wealthy non-noble. Aoife, on the other hand, had always struggled with being 'ladylike.' Further, whenever she managed to sneak out to spar with the boys in her town, she wasn't strong enough to keep up. This imbalance of fitting in largely motivated her desire to forge her own path. As soon as she was old enough, Aoife left without notice. She has spent the past several years traveling Gielinor.
