• Units Introduction •

The Asgarnian Army is the larger of the two branches of the Kingdom, and therefore has quite a lot in numbers. Not saying they out number any other sister army, but with that being said their numbers are comparable to Misthalin's. In order to organize the soldiers into an effective and coherent fighting force, members of the Army are divided into certain divisions and units according to their individual jobs so that there is better organization and order among the Army. On this page you will see all of the playable units your character may be assigned to. Do be advised there are more units that exist among Asgarnia's Army. However they're not playable, and are generally used for story purposes.

Ever Division, Regiment, and Battalion is headed by an officer of the rank General and his/her leading staff- excluding certain smaller special groups who are headed by a Major. Underneath the commanding officer and his staff are headquarters and line platoons who conduct all of the nitty gritty work on the ground. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

• Conventional Units Overview •

The conventional units make up a majority of the Army, where most soldiers start and end their careers. Their main purpose is to fight the Kingdom's battles on the ground and support each other in their efforts to defend the Kingdom's borders. The conventional units are expected to engage other armies and enemies in open conflict and pitch battle, where the forces are well defined and fight using weapons that primarily target the opposing forces.

The general purpose of conventional warfare is to weaken and destroy the opposing force so that it may not continue to remain a threat to the Kingdom and her people. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

• 4th Asgarnian Infantry Division •

Stationed out of Fort Sterling in the rolling northern hills of Asgarnia to the west of Edgeville and the east of Ice Mountain perhaps lies one of Asgarnia's largest and better known infantry divisions. Mainly an infantry division consisting of multiple platoons of armsmen and archers supported by a multitude of support jobs, their main purpose is as their designation entails. To engage and destroy the enemy in combat on the ground.

The 4th is known for their lighting-fast speed in assaults, their stone wall defenses, and outstanding leadership which overall contributes to the success of every mission. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

• 2nd Asgarnian Cavalry Regiment •

The 2nd Asgarnian Cavalry Regiment is stationed alongside the Asgarnian Specialized Armsmen and other special units out of the quaint seaside post of Fort Spears. The 2nd is a light cavalry regiment that strives for excellence and greatness by demanding heavy standards upon their cavalrymen, who in turn pride themselves in their quick and efficient ways.

They live by the horse & sabre. Not only is the 2nd expected to engage and destroy the enemy alongside the Infantry, but they are also to conduct reconnaissance operations upon horseback for the main body of the Army so that the commanders have a good mental image of the forward terrain and enemy forces. • 1st Asgarnian Support Battalion •

The 1st Asgarnian Suppot Battalion's existence is necessary for the survivability of the Army in field and garrison environments. Stationed out of Fort Telegraph in Taverly, their main purpose is to support and sustain the other units of the army.

They mainly consist of cooks, artillerymen, and other support jobs that don't quite engage in open conflict. But don't underestimate their ability. There's a reason why every soldier goes through the first 6 weeks of training. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

• Special Units Overview •

Special Units that specialize in unconventional and guerilla warfare in today's battlefield are necessary for operational success in the field. Special Units are the smaller, more selective groups of soldiers and Knights that are generally either invitational only or not open to public recruitment. They're considered elite warriors, where only a small fraction of the Army has what it takes to find themselves as members of one of the teams.

Any qualifying soldier is able to volunteer for a special unit, but they still must go through a rigorous selection and screening process that will most definitely weed out the week. Because of the highly dangerous missions these units are expected to conduct, there is no room for anything but the best. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

• White Knights •

Famous across the entire realm for their devotion to the god Saradomin and prowess in combat, everyone knows who the White Knights are. The White Knights are Asgarnia's original military. Proud defenders of the White City and the Kingdom's people, who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. The White Knights are selective in their recruiting and only accept the best of squires, who then must pass a long and hard training cycle before they may consider themselves Initiates among.

The White Knights only accept Saradominist recruits who are able bodied and able minded. They are generally used as shock-troopers in combat, and when fighting conditions are expected to last for quite a long while. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

The Asgarnian Specialized Armsmen, also known as "Able Group", are an elite hand-picked selection of infantry and cavalrymen who are a cut above the average soldier. Expected to conduct everything from deep reconnaissance operations behind enemy lines to sabotauge & lighting fast raids, the ASA are a force to be reckoned with.

Stationed out of Fort Spears to the south, the only way one can join the ASA is to at least be an NCO of the rank Corporal and be in good standing with military law before even being considered to try out for the unit. The unit conducts a selection program similar to the Temple Knights down at Fort Spears, where all candidates must survive a two week course that tests both the mind and body in rigorous activities not even the strong are expected to pass. • Temple Knights •

Perhaps the most secretive of all military units, the Temple Knights are an ancient order of Knights dedicated to preserving the name of Saradomin in the realm at anywhere and any time. A lot of rumors and stories exist of their work, however there are many who even doubt their existence even at all.

The Temple Knights operate in a similar fashion to the ASA where they are expected to conduct covert operations against enemies of Saradomin and the Kingdom of Asgarnia. One does not volunteer for the Temple Knights. They select you. And the only known way to be selected is to already be a member of the White Knights, where you must outshine the rest of your brothers and sisters. To be a Temple Knight is a great honor, that will set yourself up for the rest of your life. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

Similar to the support battalions of the conventional side, the 1st Asgarnian Special Support Group stationed down in Fort Spears caters to the Special Units of the Army, who provide food and sustainment for the units.

Mages are also known to be part of this group, who specialize in specific teleportation magic to quickly exfiltrate units in the field at a moments notice.. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.
