The Asgarnian Army is one of the Kingdom's two branches that act in the defense of her interests and ideals both foreign and domestic, designated to fight the Kingdom's battles on the ground where as the Asgarnian Navy fights by the water. For the first time in many years, the Kingdom of Asgarnia once again has a unified and mostly organized military that may compare to her sister nations of Misthalin and Kandarin, a force comprised of all volunteer individuals ranging from the ages of 16-60. The military itself has been through countless changes and reformations but it's purpose has always remained the same. This time, under the leadership of newly anointed Commanding General Beatrice Sinclair, former White Knight officer and Brigade commander, the Army once again thrives and strives for excellence.

The Asgarnian Army is an all volunteer force where individuals as young as the age of 16 are permitted to enlist, but cannot be any older than 35 upon initial entry. Individuals are given free reign to choose the specific job they wish to perform and are guaranteed free housing, food, clothing, and pay in the form of coin along with the promise of learning a trade that would assist them in the civilian realm.

Upon initial enlistment, all candidate soldiers are physically and mentally examined to determine their medical ability to serve before being sent to the Initial Soldier Entry Training location of Fort Telegraph, where they will spend 6 weeks learning basic soldier skills and tasks. Upon graduation of initial training, they will proceed to their duty assignment where they will learn the skills and tasks of their individual trades to become fully fledged soldiers and experts in their individual professions.

Like all professional armies, the Asgarnian Army follows a strict ranking structure that determines the chain and succession of command in both garrison environments and combat environments. There are three brackets of ranks for soldiers to achieve: Junior Enlisted, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Officers. Most of the Army consist of Junior Enlisted, who are managed and supervised by NCO's, where Officers oversee and plan all work and judgement. The ranks are listed below.

Junior Enlisted
-Private (Translates to Initiate among the Knights. Usually held by all new enlisted personnel for an average total of 2-4 years.)

-Lance Corporal (Translates to Proselyte among the Knights. Held by seasoned personnel not yet ready to take on a leadership position, with an average service time of 3-6 years)

Non-Commissioned Officer
-Corporal (Also translates to Proselyte among the Knights. The first and junior NCO rank, held by able Lance Corporals who prove leadership potential. Average time of 3-9 years)

-Sergeant (Translates to Acolyte among the Knights. Backbone of the NCO ranks. Held by competent NCOs with an average time of 5-12 years.)

-Colour Sergeant (Translates to Partisan among the Knights. Senior NCO rank, mostly all Colour Sergeants are long time veterans and usually seen as either platoon sergeants or first sergeants for companies. Average time of 9-15 years service)

Officer
-Lieutenant (Junior officer rank, held by new officers both young and old. New and seasoned. Usually platoon leaders and co-commanders of companies.)

-Captain (Usually leads a Company)

-Major (Seasoned officer, usually leads brigades)

-General (A general officer, with a long time service. Usually in charge of entire divisions)

Issued to every soldier both on the conventional and unconventional side is a uniform set, used in both combat and garrison environments. Listed below is the universal uniform.

• Asgarnian Army Initial Soldier Entry Training •

The Initial Soldier Entry Training is the 6 week program all new recruits must go through and graduate from in order to be considered an Asgarnian Soldier. Both new Privates and Lieutenants are to be ordered to attend, and those who do not quite graduate are instead sent home from training.

The Initial Soldier Entry Training, as stated above, lasts for just about 6 weeks and it is where soldiers will learn basic soldiering tasks and skills so that they may properly conduct themselves as soldiers of Asgarnia. The program is held at Fort Telegraph, which is just north of Taverly. However, their training does not stop there as they still must learn their individual jobs they've signed up for in which their gaining unit upon graduation is responsible to provide for said soldiers.

All new recruits are kept under strict rules and regulations underneath observing Drill Instructors who are expected to make a soldier out of them. Everything the trainee does is dictated by these Drill Instructors and it is these Drill Instructors who are responsible for the trainees' well being.

Upon graduating the 6 week program, the newly anointed soldiers are awarded their formal uniform tailored to their figure and are given orders to report to their gaining unit, wherever it may be located in the Kingdom. I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.

Although headquartered out of the White Castle in Falador, the Army also has a multiple number of Forts dotted around the Kingdom to house different units and to provide the Kingdom with a blanket of security from all fronts. Asgarnian Army Forts are almost like mini-towns, providing all soldiers with everything they need to live such as housing and markets. Below are the names of all major active forts, with their individual units stationed.

Like most militaries of today, the Asgarnian Military follows a strict set of rules for all individuals serving in the defense of the Kingdom. The Army is no exception to these rules. A summarized list is listed below. Those found in violation of said rules are subject to punishments as minor as a week work of extra duty to major punishments such as death and loss of rank.

- All soldiers male and female will present themselves in a respectable manner, appearing clean and presentable.

- No soldier will desert his/her assigned place of duty until an appropriate official declares otherwise.

- All soldiers will obey the orders of their superiors

- All soldiers will abide by uniform standards on duty

- There is to be no discussion of politics or religion in public while on duty

- No soldier will fraternize with another soldier of higher or significantly lower rank

- There will be no discrimination of any kind among soldiers

- All soldiers will obey the rules of engagement when in combat environments, and will respect international law

- All soldiers will respect domestic law as well, to include the law of non-participating counties

- No soldier will be found drunk on duty or under any influence of mind altering substances

It is a common misconception all soldiers are armsmen and sword wielding madmen. However, that is not quite the case as even armies need members in supporting duties and roles to ensure success in combat. Below are only a few of the many job opportunities presented to individuals wishing to enlist in the Kingdom's Army.

- Infantry Armsman (Your run-of-the-mill frontline soldier, tasked with seeking and destroying the enemy in combat.)

- Infantry Archer (Alongside the Armsmen are the Archers, who provide a base of fire with their bows and crossbows on the frontlines.)

- Cavalryman (Sort of like the Armsman, except your given a horse to care for and ride into battle. You will also be expected to conduct reconnaissance operations as you are much faster than armored men on feet.)

- Medic (For individuals who either seek combat or clinical work. Not all medics are in the field fighting. However, you are expected to treat wounded and sick.)

- Engineer (Like the medic, there are roles for both combat and non-combat. They can be responsible for hasty construction projects in the field or removing explosive ordinance during battles and patrols.)

- Artilleryman (Working behind friendly lines, they are responsible for the heavy bombardment of enemy forces with cannons, catapults, and siege equipment.)

- Linguist (Mostly an officers' position, they're responsible for translating foreign languages to friendly forces when deployed afar.)

- Cook (As the job suggests, you're responsible for feeding the troops.)

- Stableman (Responsible for caring for the horses of the cavalry when they're not around or drinking in town on the weekends)

- Armorer (Doubles as a quartermaster, they're in charge of provisions and supplies while also being in charge of the unit's weaponry in which he is expected to fix) I'm a thief. But I keep, what I steal.
