@Sand Every single invasion can potentially be claimed to have OOC origins (It's a really easy get out. No Pok has required an excuse to not acknowledge an attack in some time of course but it is generally easier to have one and this is among the most common) , what exactly is said to be the reason tom wants to take down Kandarin OOC'ly?

He has made consistent attacks on Alli's integrity and character as a person.

Before or after he started the invasion?

Being refused the chance to act out a RP can make you angry. Hell we're writers effectively and writing can be a very emotive business, people pour alot of time and energy into their ideas, reject them and arguments can start.

Only two questions that matter are these:

1. Did tom start this simply to attack someone OOC'ly?

2. Is he able to work with you reasonably if you afford him the same courtesy?

So the subject of wars.
Well once upon a time you just went up and declared war on somebody. The Rovins once had to defend Burthorpe from a clan of Void Knights. Clearly that made no sense.

Of course role-play evolves and the good ol' notices came along. I'm all for fair play and giving notice but I also like having everyone fully involved and consenting to the invasion.

Not to rip my good buddy Zentho* but if you would simply turn your eye to the last war I was personally involved in when the Leroux had their short run with Kandarin. When war was declared on him he was going through some irl trouble and simply asked it be pushed back for two weeks. Instead a messy war was forced upon the clan and it ended up with a one-sided series of battles because no one wanted to defend the guy who couldn't currently log on.

So. Overall both systems are bad.
The old system ended in random wars that didn't make a lick of sense.
The new system allows anyone to yell "ooc interactions" to avoid a conflict.

I understand that there seems to be some ooc stuff floating about here so I'm all for ignoring the current war and doing some amazing plotline instead. After all who needs war when there are literally 1000000 other things to do lorewise?

That'd be awesome.

Your suggestion falls apart at "ooc stuff floating apart"

Nobody ever looks past OOC. If this conflict sees its first.. /battle/ I'll be amazed. I'd love to see some awesome plotline, too, but I don't see it coming.

I think people are far too focused on the thread and not what's taking place in-character. We've acknowledged Adrian's invasion and given responses from our characters, as far as Kandarin's acknowledgement is concerned.

As for the constant bickering about acknowledging Adrian, that's simply being instigated by people who don't even seem to be involved in the entire thing.

Posters began appearing all over the capital with a sketch of Adrian Aerendyl, with these words written beneath it:

BOUNTY FOR THE PRETENDER

The Crown of Kandarin hereby announces their intention to nip the potential invasion of the Aerendyl Pretender. With hesitant affirmation, King Vectis has issued this bounty of fifteen thousand gold coins to be rewarded to the assassin which strikes down Adrian Aerendyl and brings his head to the Sunlit Hall. Without the head of this Pretender, there will be no reward, for the King has known Adrian for many years and shall confirm that the head brought to the castle is the enemy.

Unless Adrian Aerendyl announces publicly that he will never take up arms against any kingdom ever again and renounces all claims held by House Aerendyl to the throne of Ardougne, Yanille, Camelot, and especially Kandarin as a whole, this bounty will remain active.

Signed,
King Vectis II of Kandarin
Queen Senna of Kandarin

A handful of horseback riders approached the entrance to Adrian's Camp, led by the mounted knight at the front of their envoy. He wore white armor with slick blonde hair tied at the back of his head and draped past his shoulders. His hand reached up to comb back the golden curtains which fell in front of his eyes and with one hand resting on the pommel of his white sword's hilt, the young man peered up to the sentinels which guarded the Aerendyl cause. Hailing the guard, he spoke aloud, "Greetings, friend! I am Sir Eadrik Kyndall, arriving from the Sarim area where my family estates are landed. I come to pledge my support to King Adrian's cause!" Whether or not the guard accepted his proposal was not up to Eadrik, however, he was genuine in his words. His handful of an escort all possessed bows strung over their shoulder and one man held a banner bearing House Kyndall's sigil; a blue dragon extending a crimson tongue, draped over a white background...

APPLICATION

Character Name: Sir Eadrik Kyndall
Age: mid-twenties
Race: Human

He has found a hero in Adrian Aerendyl through the man's own service to the Asgarnian Crown. He seeks to earn himself a spot in the conquerors camp and lead his own detachment of archers into battle. He believes Adrian's cause is heroic and is determined to regain some honor.
Appearance: His armor is of white metal as are his weapons. Since abandoning his post in Falador, however, he has started wearing iron and several garments of white metal on his body. As for his archers, they all wear leather, which he will also don at times.
History:
- raised in the Sarimia area to House Kyndall. He is the heir.
- joined the WK early on and rose to the rank of partisan.
- took action in the WK rebellion during Erysail's reign

Before anyone contests the sincerity of my application or the will of my character, I'd like to point out something. Myself being in this roleplay will be no different than making two Nord characters on Skyrim with one fighting for the Stormcloaks and the other for the Empire. I am an ardent fan of story progression and character development and seek in no way to undermine my own clan or Tom's, but taking an active part in the unfolding drama. .„¸¸,.·` |
