Military Overview
·:·

Asgarnia's military is a very feudal form of structure. Each region has it's own Guardforce, usually a Knight Order, and it's own Soldiers. Sometimes these overlap. The following posts will detail military in Asgarnia.

As a whole, Asgarnia is not the economic power Varrock is, and has to be sparing with military supplies and equipment. Using what metal they have, Faladian soldiers have devised their own steel alloy and armour designs of stronger make than most steel armours. Likewise, the Kinshra have a similar design of their own.

Most Asgarnian Knights wear these Steel Variants, whether it be the Kinshra whose origins are Asgarnia's offensive force, or the White Knights of Falador who acted as the Defenders of the Asgarn.

Infantry are armed with more standard equipment to compensate cost by protecting the most vital regions. Though, this varies from fiefdom to fiefdom as to the whole extent of it. Some Lords can afford to give their infantry plenty of armour, while others cannot.

Asgarnia prides itself on devout fighters and devout faith, making it common to hear Saradominist hymns sung on battlefields to strengthen morale in combat. Similarly, the tradition was picked up by other local forces, leading to songs of heroism and balance as well.

The Asgarnian Army
·:·

The main force of infantry within Falador and Asgarnia, the Army is headed by General Beatrice Sinclair . They act in defence of the Kingdom in times of war, patrolling and garrisoning within Asgarnia's four fortresses.

There are three roleplayed sections of the force.

More Information can be found on the Asgarnian Army Thread.

The White Knight Order
·:·

Formerly the Defensive force of Asgarnia, the Noble White Knights of Falador are devout Saradominists of Noble birth or title, sent to train with the Knights and become one themselves. The White Knights are staunch rivals of the Kinshra, having their roots go back to the Legendary Temple Knights of Saradomin.

The White Knights are considered to outrank non-Officers on a battlefield, with their Leader having authority higher than other Commanders. Their current leader is Hilde Vestreth.

The Temple Knights
·:·

Spoken of in hushed whispers and a hint of fear is the Temple Knight Order, devout Saradominists who serve not the Crown, but Saradomin himself. With service to Saradomin, protection of his people and their homeland, Asgarnia, the Knights roam the Kingdom as silent enforcers of Saradomin's will. Supposedly.

Many doubt their existence, especially with the stories of their members. Supposedly the World Guardian is a member. Supposedly Hayley Spears, a public figure of importance to Falador was one, and an Icyene sent by Saradomin himself by rumours. Then come rumours more preposterous than that. Stories of Temple Knights fighting off multiple Mahjarrat where even Legendary Arrav of Varrock failed to defeat one. Stories of them returning from the Dead by Saradomin's very will!

What can be said among Royal and high-Noble officials alike... The Temple Knights do exist. And they are a force to be reckoned with. Their daily operations leader is unknown to the public, but if they do exist it is safe to say they serve Saradomin himself, directly.

More Information can be found on the Silver Chapter of the Temple Knights thread.

The Kinshra
·:·

Part of the initial unification of Asgarnia by Raddalin the Asgarn, the Kinshra Order was the offensive powerhouse that drove the line. However, their rivals, the White Knights disapproved of their devout Zamorakian beliefs.

The Kinshra received a fortress to aid in offensive goals at the Northernmost part of Asgarnia, a stalwart defence that is hard to reach, siege and subdue.

When the Void Knights were removed from Falador, the balance they brought was soon lost. The White Knights gained more important positions until finally, King Vallence fell ill. Supporters of the Kinshra and Crown Prince alike believe the White Knights were responsible or let him die. The Kinshra were soon expelled from Falador all together, and the Asgarnian Civil War began.

Since then, the Kinshra have had varying political stances toward Falador. Most recently, they marched on the capital and were repulsed by combined domestic and Camelite forces, falling back to their Fortress. What will this new Monarch bring? A reign of peace with the Kinshra, or a continued quagmire of blood and broken armour?

The Kinshra have often had to deal with internal struggles, reinforcing that Chaos does not necessarily represent Evil. In some cases this had led to their forces being culled, in others, it has led to atrocities of war. Their current leader, Lord Jacelyn Corbin, may take them one direction or the other, as well.

More Information can be found on the Kinshra Thread.

The Order of the Talon
·:·

The Order of the Talon is the Knighthood connected to the area of Taverthorpe. They are sworn warriors to defend the region and the Noble Ruler of the area. Higher ranking imperial guard members, heroes of the region, and local nobility can be members.

Currently, the Order of the Talon is reforming, due to a rise of a Noble figure in Burthorpe to lead the order or be served by them. Many of the members, however, have roamed about Asgarnia while it was united.

There is currently no leader for the Order of the Talon.

The Imperial Guard has a long history of service to Burthorpe, being the favoured force of the old Crown Prince Anlaf. Wielders of claws, the Imperial Guards' lightly armoured, yet effective strategy influenced much of Asgarnia's other military forces.

The Asgarn Guard
·:·

Police and Defensive force of Asgarnia, the Guard is lightly armoured and patrols Falador alone. They serve the guard captain, who in turn serves the Prince of Falador.

They are commoners who receive a paycheck, in order to purchase food. Usually, the Guards are not wealthy, coming from families new to the city who haven't hit fortune yet. Some of them can hardly afford shoes, earning the nickname "Flatfoots" by Merchants and Gangs alike.

In times of War, the Guard serves to defend Falador alongside the Asgarnian Army and White Knights. But the Guard is the sole force to do any form of policing.

The Current Captain of the Falador Guard is: (Undecided).

The Current Captain of the Rimmington Guard is: (Undecided).

The Asgarn Fleet
·:·

Sporting one of Gielinor's largest ports and because of it's close proximity to the pirate-infested waters of Karamja, the Kingdom of Asgarnia's navy is large and constantly active.

Asgarnia's a haven for merchants due to its central location and large port, attracting merchants and adventurers from all over Gielinor. Because it's a magnet for wealth, pirates are also attracted to Asgarnia's waters.

In response to a constant threat of piracy and the past historical border disputes the crown places a lot of investment into Asgarnia's navy. A large and competent navy patrols Asgarnian waters, travelling between their coastal strongholds that are scattered alongside Asgarnia's waters. During peace times their daily activities include guiding merchant ships while in Asgarnian waters, patrolling the coast and practice.

For more information regarding the strength and number of ships Asgarnia has please ask one of the admins so a scouting role-play can be made.

In addition to the Misthalin Wilderness beacon network, the Kingdom of Asgarnia has developed its own beacon system in conjunction with the Wilderness network.

All towers are manned by a small group of Asgarnian soldiers who are trained to light coloured fires to alert other beacons about incoming threats. Members are also trained on how to summon the Macaw familiar for scouting purposes.
