That doesn't apply here since I was trying to indicate that I was interested in finding out more about that type of RP.
Though not fully on topic, I suppose it’s fair to ask me about what I do like as I’ve recently given a list of what I don’t like. Giving it a try to explain what I do enjoy.
What I do like about roleplay not tied to a player owned kingdom is having more freedom for your own narrative. You like no other must understand it gets tiresome after a while to see sub-groups be deemed lesser than the player owned kingdom groups.
When I roleplay with for example (for as far as you’re willing to call these sub-groups) the Wizard’s Tower, The Guild/Ac. of Heroes, any of the knight groups, Woreshippers, a roleplay family like the Aren/Grey or the Quest Collective, I feel less limited. I know some of my examples have later on tied themselves to groups in the POK scene but that was all a choice of sub-groups.
I think that is perhaps why I like the non-POK groups more. Choice. You get less glares pointed towards you if you don’t want to interact with a POK or any group for that matter. It’s different when compared to the POK sphere, where you are constantly shunned and mocked by opposing sides when you decide who’s character/npc is in charge of something. In the POK sphere the general idea is that you’re in it 100%. Total acknowledgement of W42’s sub-groups was key if if a POK wished for the rest of the POK sphere to take it seriously. Only then could it contribute to the sense of roleplayers having their stories all tied within a fully interactive and player run overworld, W42.

I am bad and that's good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me.

That nearly revolutionairy concept of the player run overworld was the biggest appeal the server had to nearly everyone, no doubt. But over the years this player run overworld became more like player run overworld

. At some point I didn’t bother anymore to keep up what certain inner relations were between the POK groups because it sucked the fun out of things. It ruins my immersive experience to have my characters’ narrative tweaked and altered due to conflict I have no place in, nor want.
That’s why I tended to stick to the sub-groups. Sure they’re not always perfectly in tune with lore, accepted by the general public or flawless creations of wild imagination. Some of them have made a terrible reputation amongst some of the community but they served their function. The sub-groups filled in the niche gaps of W42 roleplay that a POK simply couldn’t provide on their own. Thus they reached out to the Sicarius, the Woreshippers, the Kinshra and fhe White Knights, the vampyre covens and the Grey Vanguard. They were often the lifeblood for many POK’s their activity in the past.
Sub-groups have had and always will have that edge over a POK. The ability to fully focus on a certain niche theme I find appealing (Wizards, Knights, Heroes, Assassins, Zamorakians, Vyres; you name it) and to get at least some sort of choice in who you interact with and when without the need for community wide involvement. That way I can always log in without worry of there being drama involving me personally and fully focus on roleplaying the themes I enjoy.
I hope this explain to you why I like sub-groups over POK-groups, Pyro.

We all see through you and your aristocratic attitude, Pyro. Just chill with the essay-writing, we're not at school here...
I can honestly promise you that nothing I do on here is done to impress you, if you have a problem with the way I talk about thing then I suggest you write it down in your diary where it can only be seen by the only person that cares.
@Croco I can certainly see your point. Just a couple of notes:
1. I notice that a lot of your explanation seemed to focus around pitfalls of POKs that are avoided by joining these groups, not on positives unique to that group. Personally I prefer to focus on how those issues with POKs might be removed or fixed but that's just me.
2. I think that sometimes the fact that these groups are not in tune with the lore and tend to be quite enclosed communities makes them inaccessible to newer players and outsiders. It would be good to see a little bit more of what is going on within the group on the forums so people can familiarize themselves and get more involved (this would also help if the group ever wanted to interact with the POKs).
