Disappearance of the Princess Isabel
As part of a mini-plot in Varrock focusing on the kidnapping of the young Princess Isabel from the palace, the King of Varrock and his court's immediate response is summarized with the following actions:
Suddenly, the palace was in a frenzy. It started first in the chambers of the young princess, Isabel, where she couldn't be found. Looking from hall to hall, room to room, each servant and guardsman calling her name, they would come up empty and the panic grew. More and more of the palace service joined the search, which soon reached the attention of the King himself. To His Majesty, and almost any resident or worker in the palace, this was very odd.
Once he heard of his sister's disappearance, the King sprung into action and called on the servants, guardsmen as well as members of his court to continue the search. Some formed informal search parties, combing the palace once and again. At some point, King Nicholas would call on the Royal Guard and issue them into the streets of the city, scouring every alleyway and road before roaming the forests surrounding the city. Throughout the streets of Varrock and Edgeville, patrols of Royal Guardsmen could be heard marching through streets. No homes or businesses were searched at this time, however inns and public homes were an exception to this. Determining that there was no way the princess could have gotten far and that there was a likelihood of foul play, the Palace Division of the Royal Guard has been tasked with the investigation of her disappearance.
The final act by the King, Nicholas, in the current state of the case, is to declare a state of emergency throughout the realm, to ensure that the kidnappers would not be able to get far away from Varrock by putting the fortifications of the King's forces on high alert.
