@Ria Renderra - I've had to hide some of your posts as they are off-topic to the discussion. Please read my two posts on page 4 as a refresher regarding the topic. While I have been trying to have a light moderation hand here, it is not constructive nor on topic to try to shift the focus to personal (individual and/or group) issues that have happened in the past.

I have quoted your on-topic comments, from the hidden posts, below. Most, if not all, of the content on those hidden posts is not appropriate, per what I have stated above. Please stay on topic and avoid making allegations.

In January, this post was made by Khaji on the other stickied thread,

Khaji said :
Either way this guide is a mess and either needs a serious update and overhaul or passed on to somebody with the time to do just that. Not to mention put in the effort to keep it updated and relevant. The guide has been in bad shape for a long time and a place I would not recommend using to learn how to is currently done.

Which with benefit of the doubt, involved being unaware this thread [qfc id=237-238-226-65867764[/qfc] existed. I can’t say I blame Khaji on that, since the first few pages are full of flame war about the guide shifting hands anyway. But by the tail end of it, Ridaku was already taking suggestions on how to improve the guide, other than “Delete your account”

As for the guide and welcome sticky themselves, I find it a little silly to criticise Ridaku’s thread now, when he’s been taking feedback and gotten nothing constructive. I also think it’s silly to delete/unsticky Lozz’s thread. Some modifications to it for clarity would go miles in improving it, and making a better sticky as a result.

So, now we reach a point where this thread is posted with an unclear, potentially very loaded definition of Private Roleplay.

CrocoNuts said :
• Sandbox or Private role-play
A sandbox/private roleplay is one set outside the public canon of roleplay. These can range from just being closed-off roleplays, or span into lorebending adventures. Due to the adverse conditions usually at play within these roleplays, they are not considered as canon by the broader public community.

The definition of a closed-off roleplay is not provided, though the way many in the community do use it is to refer to a roleplay where you need to apply to be invited into Discords or CCs.

Before that, though, it may be for the best to work both guides to the best possible shape, given any influx of new rpers that would join this way would surely want to read the guides. Given Ridaku’s spot for input was not in the most noticeable place, I stand by another thread being made to do a large community rework of his guide, rather than continue to simply say it is clunky and outdated without specific, constructive input on places to improve...

I understand that I went off-topic in my attempt...

@Rivendell - If you cannot contribute constructively to the discussion, then please do not post.

As some have asked for constructive criticism of the guide's content, I'll go ahead and post my own.

Also, I'm sociable enough within this community and would much appreciate my personal affairs not mentioned here, as another previously stated aloud. (Thank you for the removal, Twillow.)

Clichés

The cliches post appears more of the opinion to the thread owner rather than necessary content for the Roleplaying Help & Guide. Barpee has existed as a very successful way to force all walks of life into a social scene together. Whether it's cliche or a stereotype isn't relevant to it's usefulness and success in the community, nor should it be a talking point of the thread in which newcomers may read. It's off-putting and in bad taste, to say the least.

Masochist Character Sheet and Cramped Space

An extremely extensive and overwhelming character sheet that defeats all norms and traditions of our community's process for introducing a new character to the community. As if the guide isn't extensive enough for new players to sift through, this character sheet takes up four wildly unnecessary reserves and is best recommended by clans than useful on the Guide.

In fact, the guide's content is far too large for introducing new players to the community. The volume of information creates an uncomfortable influx that newer members have relayed concerns about before when joining public clans. Without name stamping, I've personally had to redirect new players in offering a tutorial of how our community roleplays through an interactive session, because they felt overwhelmed by the overload of the content writers work. Many posts do less clarifying and moreso instill the impression to the reader that the writer is more concerned with flexing their essay than truly mentoring newcomers.
