Armadyl is the avian god of justice, also associated with liberty, law and the sky. He is the patron god of the Aviantese, a race of birdlike creatures from Abbinah to which he also belongs, although some members of other races, such as humans are known to worship him as well. In addition, Armadyl is commonly associated with birds, as well as the skies and its floating citadels.

Shortly after the death of Guthix Armadyl returned to Gielinor. He desires global safety and justice for his following.

A lesser-known God before his return, Armadyl was viewed by many as just another Saradomin, supporting laws and justice passively. However, his rebirth in a trial by fire erected by the trauma of the war has led Armadyl to adopt the Phoenix motif, giving him far more initiative to protect his people and his followers.



As a result, Armadyl's faith is also split in two. There are those who are called ''Doves'' in roleplay, and seek to embrace peace, law, and the more traditional ideals held by Armadyl.

There are also the ''Flames'' who embrace Armadyl's new motif, that of passionate justice. The will to go to war to preserve the peace, in a less idealistic view of pacifism.

Armadyl currently roosts on his tower in South Asgarnia, watching over the remaining citadels that house his Aviansie, and his followers below.

The Guardians of Armadyl are a military order loyal to Armadyl and based in the Temple of Ikov, in Kandarin. The Guardians are an ancient organisation tasked with guarding the Staff of Armadyl, protecting it from potential thieves such as demons or Mahjarrat.



Their leader is called the Marshal of the Guardians.

The Guardians are an entirely humanoid organization of Armadyl's devotees, best compared to the Temple Knights or Kinshra Elite in combat difficulty.

In Roleplay, the Guardians have cycled in activity. Right now, the best people to speak to about Guardians roleplay are Lagasse and Danilla.

The Church of Armadyl in Asgarnia is a community focused group. Clergy tend to travel far and wide, migrating to different communities of the faithful. As a result, laypeople chosen from among the community tend to lead services that clergy cannot attend, in a very circular format.



Armadylean churches are open air, with practitioners gathered in a circle. While they sit, the Layleader stands, and discussions are had to support their own community, correcting injustices such as poverty among themselves, to give people support to lean on. Whether this support is financial aid, physical protection, or simply a shoulder to cry on depends on the person's needs.

This phenomenon occurs in Asgarnia due to the nature of Armadyleanism before the God's return. It was secluded and secret, with the elder clergy in hiding if they were around at all, often outside of Asgarnia in citadels or in Kandarin. Now that more people support Armadyl's message, more come to his meetings, and communities now exist where ordained clergy couldn't fill the void. However, as these new practices support Armadyl's ideals of community support, cooperation, and justice, the clergy has taken a step back to allow this to happen.

The Aviansie (sometimes referred to as Aviantese) are a race of humanoid avian creatures native to the world of Abbinah. Though the Aviansie exist as one species, many different breeds exist throughout their lineage. Each breed exhibits unique traits, often similar to other bird species found throughout Gielinor, including but not limited to hawks, owls, phoenixes, and even unique, giant Aviansie such as Kree'arra. Despite this apparent diversity, pointing out differences among the breeds is generally seen as rude.



The Aviansie race slowly repopulated over the coming millennia, and eventually, with the death of Guthix at the beginning of the Sixth Age, a handful of Aviansie chose to return to Gielinor with Armadyl. Since their return, they have aided in the construction of the Divine Focus, aiding Armadyl in defeating his long term nemesis Bandos during The Bird and The Beast conflicts.

Aviansie in World 42 are not a common sight. They tend to mingle with other Armadylean forces.

Aviansie roleplay is best pursued, for now, by seeking out other Armadylean roleplayers.
