^^^ I truly wish things go well with your family, Thalia. I know what emergencies in families are like and they can be low times, but you must stay steady to maintain.
Although I respectfully withdraw my application, seeking other opportunities. Peace to all.
Acolyte Reese and Auxiliary Lakewood did not get to Fort Legatus upon the agreed time. Passing by Rimmington, they quickly realized that the grotworm infestation suspected to have been driven by the Moonborn's entry to the worms' cavern have now started to plague the town.
A team was hastily organized made up entirely of volunteers: a woman by the name of Olivia Keys, Temple Knight Corina Spears, and the mysterious and also suspicious man by the name of Nexus. The group wasted no time and traveled to the sinkhole which was under guard by local watchmen from Rimmington.
The initial descent was mostly uneventful. The group did proceeded with haste as time was against them in regards to saving any survivors. Having gone a little deeper, they came across ores, mostly copper, with the same evidences of gnawing and acid. It didn't take them long to finally come across the young worms and while the desire to cull their numbers have been expressed by many in the group, they eventually decided to push on to save time. It didn't take long before they had to engage against the adult worms however, and the volunteers had their first-hand experience in dealing with the pests and their stubbornly thick hide. Slicing open their carcasses, they managed to locate partially digested human remains along with minerals most importantly a ring from one of the local farmers which was quite a solid indication of what fate had befallen the survivors.
They decided to carry on in order to confirm if the rest had perished as well prompting an attack from a flying leech. After a close brush with death and a hefty dose of firepower, they managed to slip free and call the expedition off for now with the mage having mapped the area for another possible expedition to the third cavern in the future. The group then parted ways in Rimmington.
