Aura Augmentation
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although these are all functions of Aura, it does not mean an Aura user could inherently know how to use them, they require a different kind of focus, training, and practice.

Technically speaking, this is not a new kind of magic, nor is it magic, as Aura is not magic.

However, I feel this should be a “magic class” or type, as one would have it.
Assuming this is accepted, I would like it placed within the magic types section in the intro pages, for access and usages sake.

Aura augmentation serves the function of increasing a user’s physical ability by inwardly focusing aura, sending it coursing through the body to amplify their strength, speed, and other physical traits. This is done in a similar fashion to how Aura healing works, except it isn’t sacrificing energy to aid someone else; it’s manipulating it within your own system to empower yourself. There are several other functions this can serve, those will be detailed below:

Aura Physical Augmentation: This is the primary use of Aura Augmentation, its use is to empower ones physical attributes, making one stronger or faster, or the likes. Using this doesn’t “consume” aura, however, it does require a constant effort of controlling the aura energy. Meaning, as one takes damage and suffers injuries, or comes about being worn out, their enhancements may dwindle.
The increase in strength and speed is related to one’s own ability to manipulate aura as such, and training therewith.
Typically focusing aura as such does not visibly manifest, however, in some cases when an immense amount of aura is being focused, the energy will seem to seep off the person like a steam, or smoke, or their eyes will glow.

Aura Armament Augmentation: Armament Augmentation, is when aura energy is used to penetrate magical defenses. The primary way this works, is that the aura energy is used to break apart the defenses simultaneously with a strike of a weapon or physical blow, laced around the body or weapon, seeing as Aura isn’t magical, but has magical properties, in high focus it can be used to overpower magical defenses in a fashion that normal blows or weapons are incapable thereof. This is also very much limited to the users own ability, and practice in the form of use. Armament Augmentation more frequently can be seen, the users Aura color typically lacing over whatever item or body part is being used to penetrate.
Armament may also be used to strike targets that like wholly physical bodies such as creatures or people with elemental bodies.
Armament may also be used to do such things as increase a weapon’s cutting power, or similar functions

Aura Defensive Augmentation: Defensive Augmentation, is when Aura energy is inwardly focused to form a typically invisible barrier over one’s body, much like typical aura barriers, but restricted to the users’ body, and unseen to the eyes. It has the same basic function as an aura barrier, resisting magical and physical bows alike. In an example format, a talanted user of this Augmentation would be entirely impervious to the blows of your average swordsman, using steel weaponry. Power of the barrier varies with the users’ practice and skill level, even resisting the physical blows, a strong enough magical or physical attack can penetrate the barrier, especially if the user underestimates the oncoming attacks.


Detection Augmentation: Detection Augmentation is a use of Aura, that does require a small amount to be consumed to use it. The user of a Detection Augmentation, sends a small wave of their Aura out from themselves, keeping in tune therewith and allowing them to detect any living forms it comes in contact with. More powerful users can map out whole dungeons or battlefields using Detection Augmentation.

These are all the functions I have currently devised for Augmentation, however, it is a rather open idea, and could expand.

Side Notes:

This does not consume Aura, where not otherwise stated, but does however require the use of it. Seeing as Aura is effectively life energy, dead things cannot use it.

A character may be a master of Armament Augmentation, and yet have no skill for defensive manipulation, or physical enhancement, or detection. Each field requires and amount of skill and practice.

Even though it is not required to use the abilities, Aura may be actually expended, burnt off, to greatly enhance one ability, but this consumes Aura, not just manipulates.

Alignment: Chaotic Good, leans more towards Chaotic, but he prefers good be the victor. Yet rarely puts enough direct effort into ensuring that they do.

Occupation: Unknown, Beckett has an odd penchant for being involved in things he shouldn't, and manipulating them to different ends than would be originally assumed to occur.

Power(s), Abilities, and/or Skill(s): Aura Augmentation; Physical, Defensive, Armament, Detection. All in a high degree of skill.
Beckett seems to have an inexhaustible amount of Aura.

Weaknesses: Beckett has no specific weakness. Except for maybe his lack of ability to resist getting caught up in events he shouldn't.

Weapons/Specialized Tools: Sometimes he has a Cane, for the most part, be uses his hands and feet.

Clothing/Armour: Beckett is always very finely dressed, typically with a hat of some sort.

Description: Beckett doesn't look too much his age, he's very fit and good looking. Always a charming smile and attitude. Well kept hair, and well kept suits.

Hair Color: Black, usually. Sometimes that's different, depends when you meet him.

Eye Color: A dim foresty green.

Height/Weight: 5'10, 150lbs aprox

Scars/Exotic Body Features: Unknown.

Weapons/Specialized Tools: Keeps a spear, halbred, twin daggers, and a bow. Each he is able to summon at his command. He also seems to have a strange orb that floats around him or near him. He is very rarely seen without it. The Orb itself seems to have the ability to channel his aura, aswell as is mostly indestructible.

Power(s), Abilities, and/or Skill(s): He the abilty to teleport himself to a short distance aka Blink,and to turn his solid body into air aka Mist-Form and Telekinesis.
And (basic) Elemental Assault Magic.

Weaknesses: Well...He is really bad gettin at Melee...

Weapons/Specialized Tools: He has 7 Sentient Staves that represent Each Element ; Air,Water,Earth,Fire,Light,Darkness.(it doesn't mean they can control all of the element).And One is neutral
