I mean, that's not the reason why I left it. It was the straw that broke the camel's back on a set of pre-existing reasons.

I also know you didn't plot against me, lol. I know who it was though.

Whether or not it was the main reason is irrelevant. The fact that any IC action would make you practically disacknowledge another Kingdom is beyond silly. If you want to actually communicate on this and discuss with me why it is you did what you did, feel free to message me.

"However, as a co-admin in Misthalin, I would like to see the other kingdoms acknowledging Vekonic Kandarin. Not only are they far more active than the Sunrise Kingdom, but Gale has always produced relatively interesting plots when he has the potential to." - Justin

"What's it going to take for people to realize this kind of behaviour not only makes you look intolerant, but it also really harms the community and all attempts to create and revitalize RP?" - Hazbo.

"I think it was Mathus that said it, everyone wants to be the Chosen One. Everyone is right, and everyone is wrong. It's time to start owning up that everyone has a part in the slow decline of RSRP and to fix it, we actually have to admit that out loud and actively work to change it." - Myles

"...there are two Ardougne, one was created out of drama, creating another that most people don't agree with. So besides history, I can assume it's also the fact that it is the relationship with another. Plus two Ardougne, that's confusing to be honest." - Adventurers.

"I'd love to bring Greyson back into Ardougne, and do a final plot for his story but I simply can't. I'm not about to exclude an entire group of roleplayers that would have their own ideas and stories to add to it, or use Greyson's plot to grow their own characters because of a division." - Greyson Val

I don't think I agree with the Vekon running Ardougne anymore, but they have every right to run Yanille. - Blox

But, at least the community made it an art to continue in the cycle, rather than trying to fight and bite at one another over it. So that's progress. Maybe in another decade, we can actually leave behind our prejudices and agree that, maybe, Runescape wasn't meant to have so many wildly divergent canons and player-owned kingdoms? -Healthorg

I have to agree with the cycle bit. I haven't really been involved in POKs for a year or two and from an outside perspective it seems to me as though the same old groups and people leave a kingdom to friends or enemies, only to return however to run the same place or another chunk of land. Perhaps we see so many blacklists and generally crappy attitude because these people bring their grudges and whatnot with them only to repeat the cycle again and again. I don't have any solution for this except for people to get over it, grow up and move on. RS is supposed to be fun and a place to relieve stress, not cause it.

Blox, that content isn't relevant. I warned the three of you on the last page - don't let this become a trend. Gonna ask a mod to come around next time.

People have truly been showing their true colors as of late. In the past few days I've been called a shit role-player, my RP is a "lulzy joke", and apparently there's, and I quote, "the cause to make Kandarin's RP inactive". It's funny that apparently this is all warranted; those people aren't the ones being questioned on how they treat or talk about others since apparently they're targeting "the criminal".

As a member of the community, this upsets me. We've stooped to a point to where the people that make those kinda accusations are the ones that made the "canon" decision.

I shouldn't be meddling in drama I have no part or interest in, but perhaps this is an example of the kinds of needless arguing and self-interested victimhood that prevent the community from getting a consistent foot on ground.

Now, I don't know about some of you, but I prefer my RP communities stable, in canon and community. I don't care what Game of Thrones taught you, but passive-aggression is not a suitable means of communication, and friendships or alliances get you squat in terms of sorting out what you need for a proper story in the long-term.

You don't need to be friends in order to talk civilly. And you also don't need to stir the pot for real to have a good plot going on.

Sure, drama can fuel roleplay, but it's like using controlled demolitions on a rickety barn. It's too forceful, and despite being "controllable", the damage is too unpredictable. You only wanted to take out this wall, you said? Well, now half of the other wall's gone, so let's just tear it all down. [/end analogy]

Fighting does nothing but throw everyone off from what needs to be internalized , and acted upon. It's not enough to flap your lips and say you'll do something with the community, or pen up a thread recommending these band-aids that are clearly just redrawing old territory lines, it starts with self-accountability.

The path to a solution, as per what this thread is about, honestly starts with acknowledging that everyone in the community has beef , and that we're not here to have beef, we're here to play characters and draft up stories completely separate from our own lives.

Separate. From our lives.

Or, at least, that's what you guys need to do. I'd love to join in again, but I have life and friends who already know these lessons to be with.

Like, yeah, Runescape is a game traditionally for the mid-to-late teenage crowd, and the clique mentality is real - but if the idea doesn't scare you that one day, maybe your best mates will get tired and find something new and more stable to roleplay and screw around with, then maybe you need to start looking inside of yourself early, or if you're past the age of teenage shenanigans, you need to start looking inside of yourself, period.

Now, like I said, it's not my call to judge the two Ardougnes or Kandarins or leaderships, or whatever. But I legitimately don't think it matters if the community at large is still not at peace with the idea of living and let live, deciding things together and never letting them lapse without consensus, or even of having thick skin in the cases when people show their ugly sides.

Because even if you settle this little dispute, there will always be more, because that's how the community works - I can tell you this, I have been around annually and in the shadows, because I still have friends here, and I see these things, and have spoken out about them before.

Honestly, I'm at the point in my life where what people say doesn't outwardly phase me, but I have the presence of mind to calmly go: "Hey, dude, that was a dick move, that made me feel like crap." Laugh it off as weakness if you want, that's how shit gets done as easily as possible.

Instead of cocooning yourselves in further layers of IC pride and clan history, find a venue to talk and think about why you care so much about whether this person or that person leads this plot of land. Because I get having a personal stake in a group too, and having pride in creating something that lasts, I've been there and I've been over that too.

Nothing I've done is remembered and I'm not bothered, because I've got the memories to think back on.

Fully agree.

Sidenote - I think I remember you (or at least, you're on my FL so I knew you at one point). Any chance of a former name to jump my memory?
