The Grand Emergence

For years, the dark seas south of the Wizard’s Tower have been quiet apart from the gentle rolling of waves. But it was not always this way. Long ago, a beautiful island stood proud. It was home to a variety of professionals from all arts, gathered together for the common purpose of educating and training young soon to be adventurers. Even the fabled World Guardian started their long career of defending the realm on this island of learning. Dubbed “Tutorial Island” by the masters that called it home, this fertile spit of land was a starting ground for the biggest and brightest names in Gielinor.

Until it disappeared.

Few knew how it happened, an island the size of a city just vanishing. A few took it as a sign of the anger of the gods, others believed it was some kind of “global hottening” that had raised the sea level and sunk the island under the waves.

They were all wrong.

Late in the Fifth Age, a seer arrived on the island, collapsed and near death. Before dying, she managed to speak of a vision she had, of a terrible fate befalling all land of Gielinor. Of course, the elders of the island were troubled by this. So logically, they took the obvious loophole. Closing the island to all, the arcane forces of the world itself were drawn upon by the great wizard Terrova, and the sea was raised and the land was lowered. Tutorial Island vanished overnight in a storm of spray and crashing waves.

But the people were not lost.

The Tutoritees adapted to their new subaquatic lifestyle, making great technological leaps in the fields of waterproof paper and sea dragon slaying. By far their greatest advancement had been the norkel: a powerful face mask capable of delivering fresh, clean air to the wearer through a complex filter of air runes and other rather strange do-dads. The norkel was seen as a sign of change for the Tutorites, and they abandoned their old ways, taking on a new name for the sunken island: The Grand Domain. Years passed, and the members of the original island, including Terrova himself, passed on or faded into retirement in their flooded bungalows. Great adventurers still rose up from the Grand Domain, however, and they literally rose up. To the surface. These Watchers would spend days floating on the gentle waves, seeing ships and birds pass. They were waiting for a sign.

And it came to to them in the form of a giant space pig.

When Tuska, known as “The Swine Sign* to the Grand Domain, passed overhead in a fiery inferno, the people of the Grand Domain knew the end was coming. The Deep Lords met, and, in a unanimous vote (mostly due to those who voted against it being killed on the spot), Rend Sul’damane, the youngest of the Deep Lords, was elected to take on the mantle of Herald of the Return. He would take with him the Damane, an elite group of soldiers tasked with utter aloofness on actually important matters, to the surface world in order to save the drynoobs
*
from their fate.

*from the words “dry”, referring to how not-wet they are, and “noob”, the first word ever spoken on the original Tutorial Island.

Now! Drynoobs of the Realm! For months, The Herald of the Return has warned you of the coming storm, the coming waves. For months, you have spat in his face or slapped his damane (looking at you, "Earl" from Rimmington).

The Return is HERE ,
The Return is UNSTOPPABLE ,
and by the gods
The Return is WET .

*Rend Sul'damane, newly appointed Emperor of the Sea, sat on the floor of his bathing chambers. His sobs could be heard all throughout the Coraline Palace, but out of respect they were politely ignored by all. Things had changed. Thing had not gotten better. And soon, Rend saw the end of the surface. And he wept for the drynoobs.*

Out of Character Stuff

Yes, I am crazy.

No, I do not care.

The Grand Domain is here, finally, after months of not being taken seriously: now it can officially not be taken seriously!

The purpose of this role-play is simple: to spread norkels to as many drynoobs (thats you non-wet folk) as possible and to slap Harys Forrester.

Why that last one? Why not.

As more drynoobs are given the norkel, the Domain can move ever closer to its ultimate goal: flooding everything. All of it. Even the desert.

Rend Sul’damane, Herald of the Return, is also focusing on the illegal catching of fish along many of the shores of the land.

Now, the important question. Do we own land?

Of course not, silly drynoob. We own the sea.

This, therefore, is not a land claim.

It is a sea claim.

The Laws of the Domain

No member of the Domain may reveal the secrets of the Domain.

No member of the Domain may kill another member of the Domain unless in a duel overseen by a Deep Lord.

No member of the Domain is to consort in an intimate manner with drynoobs. They are all icky.

All members of the Domain are to enjoy their time saving drynoobs, and to smile when taking their insults.

Saving drynoobs is a priority, and they must be protected if possible. Justice must prevail.

No bacon.
