I'd advise doing what I did. Open it to discussion, have people decide what they want in it. Having the guide makes you a servant to the community, it's no position of leadership or power. You got a duty to hold the community's guide and care for it as such.

If that came off as acting like it's a position of leadership or power, my bad, didn't mean it like that. The amount of hidden posts plus some much-needed updates to certain sections are what I'm talking about with re-vamping.

Because not only has it not fallen to a vote but to inheritance for as long as I personally can remember, but also because I'm not changing things as I see fit. I'm making little edits here and there as things fall out of date or don't belong in the first place (like some snide comments or jabs at people/the community), I've written a new intro as each guideholder has done, and past that things are relatively the same. I'm not "making" anything, I'm hosting it. It's not my guide, it's our guide, I've only been picked by the previous holder because they trust me.

If there's going to be a fuss raised over whose name is fixed to a sticky, and an idle comment about no longer following practices you've followed and helped build over that name fixed to a sticky, I don't think you should have a say in what happens with the community guide in the first place. There's been no problem with the guide's content previously, there should be no problems with it going forwards just because "RiDaku" is beside it this time around. The Sicarius |

There were a few pages of disapproval following Faeyrin's changes to the guide when she inherited it, which still remains on the first few pages following reserves. I'm sure people are just worried about history repeating itself, but I think it'll be fine.

There's been plenty of problems in the past and seeing how I suspect you aren't planning on leaving any time soon and given you've said you don't intend to change much I think it's fair to consider holding a vote over this, the result of which I'm sure the mods would accept. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

Except, you know, the precedent has generally fallen to the previous owner deciding to pass it on to somebody they trust. I might've been for a vote when Faey took it over, but then there were no issues bar a few minor comments and jabs at people. If you want to vote, vote on what goes in, because that's what will make the difference. "A silly ***** is what I'm going to call **** jokes from now on."

Don't mistake the issues not being talked about for not existing. As for the precedent, I'd call it more of a warning from the past of what to avoid.

Seeing as how ridaku isn't interested in listening to the fact people would like a vote over this, I'm not exactly confident he'd listen to a vote to decide what went into the thread either. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"
