Dear Editor,

When I wrote my guest article for the Gielinor Times, I did not expect it to be filled with such slanderous accusations against my name - especially when I had gone to the trouble of writing an article for your paper, which has less and less articles per issue. Please with my attempt to help, to read this morning's paper and find I have been scandalised and insulted in such a way comes as an extremely unpleasant shock.

First of all, I must address the fact that my departure from Anglia was not of my own doing, and for reasons I cannot give, I was unable to continue in my post as Duke of Burthorpe, despite my desire to do so. I fear the young King Edward is unaware of this, and I do not blame him, but am concerned with how you posted such with no consultation of myself.

Secondly, I hardly regarded asking members of the regime a legitimate way to try to exonerate them of the burden of their actions. One only has to look at the almost constant stream of blood from the Rising Sun Inn to know that there is a fundamental failure in the Faladian government's operations in terms of law enforcement, and what King Edward said regarding prior union attempts confirms that Sir Bool has rejected these. The basis of my article is evidenced by that which is obvious and what we can see around us, and I thoroughly refute the accusation that I have failed to justify my points. Commander Cowbra and Patriarch Dion can persist in denying the truth if they intend, but they are doing so by lying to the public, and lying to the Gielinor Times, and such is thoroughly reprehensible.

Thirdly, this ''Castigo's'' opinion that the personal bearing of arms is sufficient to deal with the crime epidemic is absurd. On the contrary, it only contributes to the fighting and the violence which the Faladian government has so far, and continues to, failed to engage. Thus I must implore your sensibilities and ask that you -- Tom ~ Player of Oliver II, King of Kandarin, Prince of Albamonte, Prince of Camelot, Keeper of the Legacy of Baxtorian and Vanguard of Armadyl.

-- issue some form of retraction or apology before my good name is slandered further. I worked very hard to create my article for the Times, with my study of the situation extensive and valid. I do not like to see my work discredited by tabloidism when I know the Times is meant to be a reputable paper.

I hope you do not let me down in this regard, Esmeralda, because I know you are a good woman and would not be so foolhardy as to let such assertions pass unchecked.

Dear Caradoc Godwin,

I'd like to talk through the points raised in your interesting letter...

Due to the God War event nicknamed 'The Bird and The Beast' - It becomes increasingly hard to locate and produce our normal extensive amount of articles due to rather obvious reasons. While the amount of articles may lack, our quality has not: it may even be said that it continues to improve.

We respectfully ask you to consider the bigger picture before making such accusation.

While this is true, you did in fact fail to specify any solid evidence in your article such as increasing death figures or quotes from unsatisfied citizens. When writing an article, it is good to cover all bases and include quotes from interviews as it adds weight to your argument. You may fair better in the future of public writing if you considered using them more.

Again, while this is your opinion - there is no absolute way of proving either side is telling the truth without sufficient evidence or confession. Because of this, the possibility of either side lying: we have not lied to our readers, but given them a balanced opinion from both sides of the discussion.

Firstly, I'd like to point out that you could of slandered Sir Bool's 'good name' should he be innocent of your claims therefore you would both be in the same boat. #TeamDaenerys

Because of this main reason, the retraction will not be happening. We've given both sides of the story, from your point of view and from the people in which you attacked in your article which was in minor breach of our rules in the first place. To issue a retraction for the article just printed would be to issue a retraction for yours also.

In conclusion: We're sorry you feel this way, however you have put us in a position in which we can only do our job - Public writing in such a manor only asks for a retaliation, and this was it.

I advise that if you do not like the retaliation, you consider strongly and carefully the consequences of any further public pieces you intend to attempt to be published in The Gielinor Times and in other forms.
