I assume time travel would also require the computer used for the time travel to also know the exact coordinates in space you want to time travel to, don't want to go back in time and then you're in space because earth was in a different part of its orbit in the time you wanted to travel to.

Mmm, yeah that makes a lot of sense to be honest. If you have the technology for time travel, I guess you'd have the technology for calculating that stuff as well... or at least one would hope.

As a person of physics, I can't recommend time travel of any kind. With the exception of a temporal causality loop in which an action from the future effects the past, in order to cause an event/action in the future caused by the past. Such a loop would not cause harm to either past or present because it was supposed to happen in order for the present to be what is.

But for the sake of this meant-to-be-fun forum topic:

I'd go back to when America was untouched by settlers, waiting to be explored. When all their was were open plains for miles and miles. No roads, no buildings, bridges, or anything. Just America in it's most natural state.
Greetings. I'm Joe. I love games and game development.

This is one of my favourite flavours of time travel, and the one I did my dissertation on for my philosophy degree! Fun stuff!

If it would be possible, and if I would do it, I would want to see some time periods.
The early 1900-1910, when the people thought they were at a technically highpoint, just conquering the air with the first airplanes. Building giant ships, like the Titanic and Brittanic.

Another time period would be the age of dinosaurs. Seeing such marvelous creatures alive, while I'm running away from a T-rex or other dangerous creature. :P

I honestly, would do so many different things. Sure you can think about the outcomes, past present, and future, but what if you could actually see them happen? Honestly, it would be endless and I would love to observe everything but hopefully never tamper because sometimes things are meant to happen for that reason, even if they aren't always positive. ~
