I have been sorting out our DVDs and I decided to watch
The Chronicles of Riddick
. Its been a couple of years since I last saw it and I really enjoyed it. :)

I love the Riddick films, though the first one (Pitch Black) will always be my favourite.

I've been re-watching Hannibal (the TV series) this week .
Mads Mikkelsen is brilliant as Dr. Lecter.

Just watched episode 1 (of 6) of '
Light and Magic
', a documentary series by the legendary Lawrence Kasdan on the history of the equally legendary special effects company Industrial Light & Magic.

Brilliant, and fascinating, with a lot of dry humour thrown in.

Ooh I'll look out for that, I love documentaries about the process of film making.

I'd love to see one about Ben Burtt too, there was a short piece about him on one of the Star Wars extras disks but a proper documentary would be fascinating.

Heh, I've watched 4 of the 6, doing one every evening. Great stuff.

I never knew there was a direct causal link between ILM and Adobe Photoshop before, lol.

Neither did I, it looks like Lucas was the driving force behind a lot of technology.

Things like Non-Linear Editing would have eventually happened anyway, but the fact that he was prepared to finance stuff shows he wasn't afraid to put his money where his mouth is.

He also pioneered THX audio in cinemas as he hated his movies sounding different depending on a particular theatre's equipment.

Oops forgot to mention what I've been watching...

It's a while since I watched
IT
so I'm doing a double bill over the next few days, might even extend it to a few more Stephen King adaptations.
