Books? they still make books? Just joking, I generally read online. Not currently reading, but with the virus, I might get back into it.
The last series I read had to do with a society that had learned to do almost anything with their computers and had gotten so dependent on it, that it was beginning to affect their birth rates (who wanted to carry a baby for 9 months when you could have a computer generated child that was indistinguishable from a real one). Part of their problem was they had increased their lifespan so much they never thought about children.
Then a war broke out between a group that believed in pure humans and those that had altered their bodies to be just about anything conceivable (there were even some that had given up their bodies and become computer programs). During the beginning of the way, they lost every part of their computer based society and had to learn once again how to walk between places and to actually interact with real humans. There some semi funny things at the beginning about some people actually having to learn to go to the bathroom without computer controlled microbots getting rid of the waste from inside.
I really hope I can find this one and if it seems familiar to anyone please let me know the name.
