Andy just tweeted:

Why is it that people who tell me they won't buy any more of my books because of the profanity always assume that my every other word in real life begins with 'f'? Eddie is a character! He swears a lot because (as I've been assured by actual soldiers) soldiers swear a lot!

The special offer ends this week - it's almost your last chance to buy the Kindle edition of THE RESURRECTION KEY for just 99p! (Or 99c if you live in the US.)

On page 184 of Galactic Corps. Glad I ordered my copy of The Resurrection Key back in October and picked it up in January. If I had waited for the paperback version to come out I'd be stuck on a cliffhanger when I finish The Spear of Atlantis. Operative 66 is now available to preorder for $11.99, it will be available on July 9th. David's In the still of the night for $15.99, but I'd rather pay $40 for a physical copy. Kevin Hearne's Ink & Sigil is available for preorder for $16.99 and available on August 25th. I read the reviews for it on Goodreads, most people like it but have some issue with the scottish style dialogue. The Iron Druid shows up in one scene so that just makes it worth it. Hoping the Iron Druid's scene has his with his arm grown back after losing it in Scourged.

On page 252 of Galactic Corps. Interesting theory on what's in the core of the galaxy and I like the description of the hellish space being so close to the core of the galaxy must be with all the stars so close together. Saw this interesting book called The Mirage by Matt Ruff. Description on goodreads seems to be that this alternate history universe is a shadow or dark parallel universe compared to ours. Seems a bit baitey and I think the setting makes it deserve its low goodreads rating so this book isn't a priority to buy. The author is all over the place with all the vastly different settings of his 5 books he published.

Stephenie Meyer doing Midnight Sun another Twilight book. Wondering if The Mister (2019) will also get a sequel. Don't think there'll be a movie on Midnight Sun with the same cast returning. On page 266 of Galactic Corps.

On page 30 of Semper Human. Main character is called Trevor Garroway same as a previous ancestor with the same name in the Legacy Trilogy. He is supposedly the descendant of Aidan Garroway yet in Galactic Corps Aidan got hit with so much radiation that it was stated he would never have kids again. I'm assuming this possible discrepancy gets explained, much like the line where Aidan says himself is his only family he needs. Liking the villain aliens, it was said that they only target Earthlike worlds because they evolved on an Earthlike world. Tech doesn't get too fantastical that I couldn't get it, as always the author keeps it understandable. Author's trademark is to have not excessive but a condensed amount of swearing and violence when needed. Liked the description of plasma bolts lighting up a pitch black cave as if it were man made lightning in Star Corps.

Just finished reading Dresden (can't remember the authors name and I'm working so can't check right now will update later)

It was pretty boring, I picked it up hoping to learn a little bit more about history however approximately 40% of the book was the author superimposing his opinions of art architecture and culture over the top of diaries and biographies of those living in Dresden in the time period the book was set in, so it felt pretty unpleasant to read.

I would rate it a 2/5.

If anyone has any recommendations for me that would be great, I'm looking to read about recent international history from the period of about 1700s to present, preferably Non Fiction but I'm open to Fiction Suggestions if they are based in real world settings with some historical facts in them.

Edit: Checked the Book when I was on my break, the author is Sinclair McKay

Just finished Semper Human. Great ending to the 9 book Marines in Space series. Now I'm reading A Night Without Stars by Peter F. Hamilton on page 96. 2kg book due to being a big hardcover, but I'm picking up this story after a 2 year break.

Final book title for John Birmingham's The Cruel Stars trilogy has been revealed. It's called The Empty Heavens. Seems to be his some of his highest rated book series so this is good. James Lovegrove's Warsuit 1.0 is available for $7. This is his take on the Iron Man armor. Matthew Reilly's entire Shane Schofield series is on google play. From what I remember they take place around 2000-2008 of the author's shared universe. Can't remember the plot of Area 7 since it's so similar to Andy's scene of a secret desert facility in his Wilde & Chase books.
