Andy just tweeted:

As a writer, you know you've done a good job with a scene when you get caught up and start *reading* it when you're supposed to be *editing* it. Just had that feeling with the first action sequence in upcoming thriller FOX RED!

Sequel to Operative 66 it seems.

On page 155 of A Night Without Stars. 31 days until Alien Secrets by Ian Douglas comes out. The giant alien on the cover of Star Corps is a normal sized one, the massive ones with 10m long railguns aren't shown on the front or back.

Good news.

matthewreillyofficial

To my Australian readers,
In these troubling times (the pandemic, the lockdown and now riots in the US), I hope this provides a little moment of joy: as promised, here is the Australian cover for my new book, coming out later this year. .Also, I’ll be releasing a free Jack West short story later this week. Again, I just hope it gives you some escape in these difficult times.

Picture for The Two Lost Mountains looks great. Here's the official blurb from Goodreads:

AN INCREDIBLE VICTORY
BUT AT A TERRIBLE PRICE...
Against all the odds, Jack West Jr found the Three Secret Cities but at a heartbreaking cost.
His beloved daughter Lily, it appeared, was slaughtered by Sphinx in a cruel ancient ritual.
TO THE MOUNTAINS AND THE FALL!
With his rivals far ahead of him, Jack must now get to one of the five iron mountains-two of which have never been found-and perform a mysterious feat known only as 'The Fall'.
Although what is this object on the moon that is connected to it?
A NEW PLAYER ARRIVES
Amid all this, Jack will discover that a new player has entered the race, a general so feared by the four legendary kingdoms they had him locked away in their deepest dungeon.
Only now this general has escaped and he has a horrifying plan of his own...

Hardcover
Expected publication: October 13th 2020 by Macmillan Australia

From what I remember the general is the one that was wearing the indestructible brass armor that escaped the pyramid at the end of The Three Secret Cities.

Just read Jack West Jr and the Chinese Splashdown short story. Fun short story with parts set before the first book and book 5. I found the link to the free PDF on matthew reilly's subreddit. On page 240 of A Night Without Stars. Still waiting for someone to make a William H. Keith Jr subreddit so I can get updates on him, call it /r/williamhkeith.

David just posted on Facebook:

In answer to over two hundred requests for more info on the next Event Group Novel, yes it will be darker, more intense than any Event Group Novel before...you may start thinking on the lines of a famous quote from The Godfather...”We’re taking care of all family business...”

Very nice, looking forward to the cover reveal. On page 262 of A Night Without Stars. This might be the final book in the Commonwealth universe. No idea who this Lukan guy is.

Added some glue to this for a week.

...and while I'm here, I just finished another graphic novel "Dead man's Shoes" that came free with the blu ray. Really good for fans of the film.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

Currently (slowly) working my way through Necronomicon, which is basically a curated collection of some of H.P. Lovecraft's best stories, arranged in order of shortest to longest. It's a good way to slowly but surely dip your toes into the Lovecraftian terror. Would recommend, though definitely not the best stuff to read right before bed lol.

David just responded to a comment on facebook:

Mickey Wallace thank you Mickey, praise from you and he are prized by this leaning left ex-soldier! By the way, tell him that training Marines in from Twenty-Nine Palms play a large roll in the upcoming Event Group book in the battle for Las Vegas!

Doesn't say any further details about the book, but hoping we get news in August. It was supposed to come out this month but then the corona happened. Supposedly there is another 3 books in The Fifth Wave series, but that seems to have stalled.

Andy just responded to a comment on twitter:

Question:

Is it stand-alone or does it have any of the characters from one of your other books? Any plans to reuse some of the characters from Persona Protocol?

Replying to @PMD31

It's a completely new series, separate from both Wilde/Chase and Persona. But the second novel, FOX RED, will have a subtle reference to one of Nina and Eddie's stories...

Very nice to see some shared universe worldbuilding going on here.
