My shoes come off the second I get through the door, I never wear them in the house.
It's for comfort rather than worrying about wear and tear on my flooring.
Also love being barefoot outside in the summer.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
I've always worn shoes in the house. When I went to South Korea is when I was introduced to "no shoes in the house." Most houses I was invited to, had an anteroom where you took your shoes off. As you stepped into the main house, there were backless slippers to slip you feet into. Shoes never worn in and slippers never worn out.
Now, it's difficult to put shoes on. I have to sit and use a long handled shoe horn. When I come home, I wear the shoes in, but are kicked off in short order. I walk around in socks or barefoot, usually barefoot. The shoes don't go back on until I have to go someplace in public. So, I may not wear shoes for days. I go outside in bare feet but have a rug just inside the door to wipe my feet.
When company comes over, I give them their choice. If I'm in socks or bare feet, they will usually take their shoes off.
Music is the Heartbeat of the World
Let's flip a coin; heads I win, tails you lose. Fair enough?
What if you don't clean your floors though?
Draft dodger btw. Too scared to attack an enemy that tried to harm my loved ones so "I only learned to defend". Typical boomer born right after the era where my parents suffered the solitude of WWII, deprivation of the Great Depression while I never had to suffer jack or risk a thing.
Yup, had this drilled into my my whole life. I'd never wear shoes inside my own home, but ESPECIALLY not anyone else's.
Even if it's not an issue for someone, I just feel uncomfortable doing it hahaha.
Are you Indian or Asian by any chance?
