Without some serious retconning, it is unlikely this show will ever be wonderful - or even watchable - again.

RTD will have a huge mess on his hands to clean up once he takes over. It might be simplest to do a third Big Bang and start over from the moment Peter Capaldi's Doctor starts to regenerate.

William Hartnell was always The First Doctor, and always will be. Period. Canon obliteration be damned.

Even the theme music sucks now.

"...From The 'Scape" is very nearly here.

Bumping this old thread as Doctor Who is very much back in the news at the moment, as the show hits its
60th anniversary
. Sixty years! :O

I have to admit I'm not much of a fan these days, though every time there's a new Doctor I try to give it a go.

I started watching the first of three new specials last night, with David Tennant and Catherine Tate reprising their roles... but I couldn't watch it all the way through.

It seems that it's very much aimed at kids these days (You'll see what I mean if you watch the episode).

After the three specials there's a new Doctor arriving, played by Ncuti Gatwa (from Sex Education).

I still have a special place for David since he was the first Doctor I saw. About the anniversary, I watched the trailers some time ago and completely lost track..and now it’s out. I need to watch it. Great to see 10 back and Donna Noble!

And I really loved the dynamic between 10 and Rose. I heard the other writer is returning so maybe he has a similar idea for the next doctor. I’m going to watch the new doctor who season when it’s out :p it’s been a while.

I think my favourite Doctor will always be Willian Hartnell, probably because he was the first one I encountered.

From the modern-day Docs, Christopher Ecclestone, then David Tennant.

Willian Hartnell was great as The Doctor but you can't beat Peter Cushing in Dr. Who and the Daleks.

He was great. Loved him in any movie really. 1 of the best British actors of all times.

I wonder if they will ever show the old Dr Who's of the past. I'd watch them.

I think it's safe to say that Dr. Who is well and truly aimed at a young audience nowadays.
