Rumours abound that the UK are looking to start vaccinating the over 85's and NHS staff in December.
Personally I don't believe this plan will come to fruition, but it's an interesting development.
Even if they do, not sure how long the immunity may last. They are finding out now that people who have had and recovered from Covid are getting lessening amounts of antibodies as time goes on. It may be that vaccinations will need to be topped up far more frequently than the flu jab.
They have never managed to find a successful countermeasure to the common cold despite years and years of research into it. I am not too sure then how this corona virus would be any different, however I really do hope that I am wrong and that there will be a positive outcome and that the vaccine will soon be readily available to all.
Covid vaccine: First 'milestone' vaccine offers 90% protection.
So seems like progress. It's a good start.
Well worth reading about it too.
How can they tell 90% when it hasn't even hit the communities yet... I hope so, I really do, the real evidence won't happen until it's been used in a country for a good 6 months to a year.

It`s a ray of hope. It`s at least maybe an indication that we may get back to a normal life at some point.
Also as they say it is a new way of targeting a virus through its genetic code, it would be wonderful if that could then be applied to other deadly viruses like SARS, MERS, Ebola etc.

trials to get a rough estimate of the %
Trials don't mean much to me, I've seen a few bad vaccines get into the communities only to find they don't work which can be quite damaging to families...
If fat means flavour then I'm ******* delicious!

Dong has got a point. Anyone remember Thalidomide?
There's some crazy conspiracy theories going around about the vaccine - my favourite is the one where "they" inject you with some sort of tracking/monitoring device. Big Brother at his finest
Anyway, I suspect I'll fall into one of the groups in the UK which will get the vaccine before the general population so I'll let you all know as and when I grow a spare head or start to glow in the dark.
