In a few days we'll see the end of mandatory mask wearing here in the UK.

As far as I can tell, businesses still have the right to insist on masks as they can set rules for their employees. I just heard that masks won't be compulsory on public transport.

I'd imagine that we'll see quite a rise in Covid cases but hopefully not as bad as previously now that a sizeable amount of the population has been vaccinated.

The ending of mandatory face mask wearing only applies to England at the moment. I think its a confusing situation to be in.

I live in England and I intend to carry on wearing face masks in places such as shops and public transport. I'll even wear one in crowded outdoor spaces. I won't be ditching the mask until the %age of double vaccinated people is higher and infection rates are very low.

My mistake, sorry. I thought it was the whole of the UK.

Cases are and have been increasing quite a lot since May in the UK I've noticed, I guess that's England contributing to most of that increase with further relaxed rules.

Although the death rate right now is still staying low which suggests that the vaccine rollout is working as it's keeping people out of hospital and from dying :)

Yep I think I read that case numbers are back to where they were last Autumn.... but Covid hospital admissions had dropped significantly.

Yeah, the crowds at Wembley and other football matches and even just places where fans have gathered to watch were wild. It's nice to see because it's showing many parts of the world coming back to life again - I just question the impact and if it's too soon.

But we'll see. If cases (at least in the UK anyway) do continue to rise but hospitalizations and deaths remain low and continue dropping then that's good. :)

The Delta variant is doing it's rounds as it's very transmissible.

If your vaccinated, even just one jab it helps the fight against Covid and it's variants.
