I saw earlier today that an Italian woman was accidentally given six doses of the Pfizer vaccine in one go.

Whoops.

So far she seems fine, but they're keeping her for observation, last I knew. In the trials they did, they did observe some "overdoses" but they only observed four doses in one go. Not six.

She's gonna be extra covid-free, I reckon.

If anything this goes to show just how overworked the medical staff are. Must be real fuckin exhausted for something like this to happen.

I wonder how it happened. Must have had a bigger needle lying around.

No more masks in most situations for fully vaccinated people in the US. No appointment vaccinations and vaccinations for 12 to 15 year old children.

And if you have had at least once vaccination jab in Ohio you have a chance to win $1,000,000 in 5 upcoming weekly drawings. Nice incentive to overcome vaccine hesitancy!

I heard about the $1m lottery haha, crazy!

I hope they have a decent amount of data to backup this decision to allow vaccinated people to stop wearing masks given not everyone (or at least a really high %) is vaccinated yet. Another thing it could be is a way to tackle vaccine hesitancy to some extent, if its somewhat incentivized :)

We'll see I guess.

Here in Ontario we're extending our lockdown to June 2nd to allow more time for ICU rates etc to drop and give extra time to vaccinate more people - thankfully the rate has ramped up massively compared to even last month.

^people that are vaccinated not wearing masks will back fire, i know of people who got the vaccine both doses and still got covid 19(my cousins wife's parents)

Plus more vaccinated people get covid 19 it will mutate into a way worse variant but...i can't stop people from not taking this seriously (yes i think the things being done atm are minimal since they left air travel open)

*snip*
Just a couple of things.

Did the people who you know that were fully vaccinated but caught covid anyway become seriously ill or require hospitalization?

Research is showing that the vaccine keeps viral loads low even with breakthrough infections and prevents virus shedding. If the virus mutates but is not shed, is it still a problem?

^ I think that's the main goal and new normal we're going to be living in.

Utilizing these vaccines to lesser the risks so anyone who does contract the virus doesn't end up in the hospital and certainly doesn't end up dying and in that sort of scenario, we just then can start to (as some places are now doing) resume a normal life and living with Covid.

The main point i was trying to make via questions is that vaccinations also reduce the mutation risk.

I did not know this:

1News: Two weak positive Covid-19 results detected in Wellington's wastewater.
https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/two-weak-positive-covid-19-results-detected-in-wellingtons-wastewater

So our body waste flushed down the loo which I'm pretty sure would have been diluted by water and other peoples bodily waste can still produce a positive Covid result :O
If fat means flavour then I'm ******* delicious!
