I saw earlier today that an Italian woman was accidentally given six doses of the Pfizer vaccine in one go.
Whoops.
So far she seems fine, but they're keeping her for observation, last I knew. In the trials they did, they did observe some "overdoses" but they only observed four doses in one go. Not six.
She's gonna be extra covid-free, I reckon.
If anything this goes to show just how overworked the medical staff are. Must be real fuckin exhausted for something like this to happen.
Arrr! Only th' Devil an' I know th' where'bouts o' me treasure, an' th' one o' us who lives th' longes' should take i' all.
Canada also approved Pfizer for 12-15 year olds too
I think the concern for the US (and Canada to some extent too) was due to some level of vaccine hesitancy that the threshold needed for any level of herd immunity would be difficult especially if children (which I believe is also 22% of the US population if I recall correctly) were also not being vaccinated.
I also totally agree with keeping schools closed while in any other form of lockdown, otherwise it's just counter-productive.
And yeah, I red about the person receiving six doses, wild! Thankfully she's OK so far
Given the rate of vaccination in the UK and with them (at least in England for the most part) relaxing rules recently it'll be interested to see how things go and it rates start increasing again despite their really good vaccine rollout.
So far so good and at least for the case of Ontario I hear they're extending our shutdown into June to allow more time for cases to drop and more vaccines to be administered so that when the time comes, we're in better shape.

They would need to keep an eye on her for the next 3 - 6 months, also telling her to keep an eye on certain health problems over that time

Pfizer vaccine approved for US 12-15-year-olds!
Thats good news. I hope everyone takes it up and helps out.
I'm not a fan of Schools or Colleges not having it as I think they are the super spreaders. Sad to say but thats how I see it " my opinion ".
Hopefully every age will be offered it and everyone will take it up. More that take it up the better and safer we should all be in the end.
Still waiting for my second jab June 2nd. Looking forward to it.
In NZ they are not giving it to children which I think is a good thing, in saying this we haven't gone through what most of the world has when it comes to Covid outbreaks, we've been very lucky indeed.
I had my first jab last Thursday 6, I was emailed the night before that I can get the jab over the next two day only. I decided after reading the email that yes I would get the jab, I actually changed my mind from nay to yay in a matter of seconds, as I had to email back asap if I wanted it with my hospital number. I had no symptoms with the first jab, the prick of the needle did instantly hurt though. My second jab already booked for next week Friday 28, first thing in the morning as the Thursday was booked up till late afternoon, Also next Friday is the only chance I have to get the 2nd jab. So I hope I'm not sick as who knows when I'll get the next opportunity as the place I went will not be around after next Friday.
Here in NZ you get given a card with both vaccine information on it, what was recommended to me was to take a photo of it and email it to yourself as extra security if you loose the card.
