^ & ^^ That confirms it! - this is a Self Trolling thread.
I give up (mostly through repetitive boredom) - anyone else wanna try? - I doubt it would do any good though.

^It's what I believe.

Here in New Zealand children aren't getting the vaccine against Covid, this is a good thing. I am really pleased this has been decided. It should be the same for strong healthy individuals too.

Covid is not harmless for healthy people, here are 2 interesting reports from the BBC news site.
This one is about long Covid. The person in the article was a very healthy young woman before she caught the virus.

This one is about a possible link between the virus and various illnesses including strokes and dementia. It says more research is needed.

I'd have thought a test before starting a shift would be more appropriate. Its a bit late if you test positive at the end and have been working all day. O_o

This is an interesting article on the BBC website about vitamin D.

Yesh, I'm not sure why they do that. Maybe they're working on the theory that he's more likely to catch it off the places he goes into than to take it in there himself.

So many Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants etc. are notoriously unsanitary places (despite claims to the contrary) and a lot of his deliveries are made prior to the clientele arriving. Or, indeed, before any cleaning will have been properly done from the night before.

Not that many places are open yet but I think the firm are just starting the regime in anticipation.

Anyway, I'm just glad they're doing it. Have you ever seen the sort of people that hang around Wetherspoons (and similar outfits) guzzling booze from 8 am ... *shudder... *

Note the possible risk, and benefits still outweigh the possible risks.

On the other hand it could purely be coincidental.

I'm reading that the UK will be giving our under-30s the Moderna jab instead of the Oxford AZ one in the light of the alleged link between rare-type blood clots and vaccine.

I'm wondering if any of the other brands have shown any evidence of a higher risk of clotting ... I say higher risk but it's only estimated at 30 people out of 18 million (7 dead) .... or, indeed, if any actual studies/follow ups have been done on people who have received other brands of vaccine to see if there were any instances of post-vaccine clotting. Can't find any commentary on this.

I'd be interested to know how many rare type clots there have been in the unvaccinated population. The problem is that in the UK its mainly younger people who haven't had a covid vaccine yet. Its difficult to compare the 2 groups due to age differences unless they can compare the figures from previous years.

edit to add. Having the Covid infection can cause increased clotting and its at a higher %age than the possible rare type clots caused by the vaccine.

Overall it does seem sensible to give young adults another type of vaccine jic there is a causal link.
