My wife will be getting her first dose of Pfizer vaccination in a couple of hours.

My special needs son was supposed to get his last week, but they forgot to notify us, so he will get his next week.
My wife just got her Pfizer vaccination. Said it was like a flu shot - only a slight pinch. No side effects at all so far.

I had my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. So far I'm fine, even my arm isn't really sore. Of course it could ache later like it did after the flu jab and other side effects might develop. My husband had the AstraZeneca one. We don't get a choice, its what they have available on the day.
It was well organised. I'm impressed! Thank you NHS!

All good news and positive stuff! :D

I mentioned the other week as well about my younger brother back in the UK catching Covid, he's now coming out the other end and thankfully my mum who's high risk never got sick so they did a good job isolating as best they could given they still needed to use the bathroom etc.

He's a pretty healthy person though but had more than mild symptoms; fatigue, aching, lost sense of taste and also difficulty breathing. There's obviously things you can do to make sure you're as healthy as you can be but ultimately may still experience pretty decent symptoms. Thankfully nothing too life threatening it seems for him. :)

Don't jinx it haha

Isn't it said to be the second dose you might be more likely to experience some flu-like symptoms than the first? So yeah, do not jinx it! Take the win and shhh! :P

Ontario COVID-19 quarantine screening officer charged with extortion, [] assault

Original message details are unavailable.
TORONTO -- A quarantine screening officer who allegedly demanded cash from a woman before [] assaulting her at her home faces related charges, police said on Wednesday.

The accused had been trained by the Public Health Agency of Canada as a designated screening officer under the Quarantine Act, Halton regional police said.

According to a police statement, the accused was doing a quarantine compliance check at a home in Oakville, Ont., on Feb. 18.

"The accused informed the victim that they were in violation of the quarantine order and demanded that a fine be paid in cash," police alleged. "When the victim declined to pay, she was [] assaulted by the accused."

Police said they arrested a man they identified only as [name], 27, of Hamilton, on Tuesday. He has been charged with [] assault and extortion.

Police also said he worked for one of four private security firms hired to help enforce isolation orders.

...

Screening officers, contracted by the Public Health Agency of Canada, are not police officers and have no authority to issue a ticket or arrest anyone.

As a result, police said, screening officers should never be demanding payment of any kind during a quarantine-compliance check.

Thanks. :)
A friend had every possible common side effect after her 1st AstraZeneca jab. They lasted all weekend ( she had the jab on a Friday afternoon ). She was quite ill in September and although the Covid test was negative I can't help wondering if it was a false negative. That could explain such a strong reaction. Poor woman is never slightly off colour, if she's ill she's always rather poorly.

Wouldn't it be the opposite if she had the virus in September? She wouldn't still have anti-bodies, but, she would still have the appropriate T cells.
