Also Haukur I'm thinking of raspberry and blackberry bushes for next year. I like them and buy a lot of fruit so might as well save some pennys growing my own.

Just remember every two to three years you have to trim them back. Or else they become unruly beasts, something straight out of Little Shop of Horrors almost. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

Not a bad harvest for a single plant. As for the tree rats. I have a benjamin co2 pellet rifle that has proven to be rather useful. They tend to avoid my garden like it is a plague bearer, after several of their friends vanished. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

Talking of rats.

Talking to my neighbour yesterday and saw something out the corner of my eye was a baby rat trying to walk around the edge of her garden lol.

A rat during the day. :P

I can't do much about them as I have to worry about my own dog as well as 3 other dogs around me. So no poison etc.

I don't mind them as long as they stay out of my loft. Few years back I killed 16 in my loft. Comprehensive Account Security
What do snowmen have for breakfast? Snowflakes! :P

Been picking off leaves on my Gooseberries. They are full of tiny caterpillers and all munching the leaves again like they did last year.

I must get the netting put up next year to stop the butterflies laying eggs. Had the netting since last year lol.

Must have pulled off and put in compost bin about 50 caterpillers so far. Checkign several times a day now and finding more each day. ;) Comprehensive Account Security

Here is a spray that I use to keep them off of my black berry and raspberries Tuffty.

1 tbs. each molasses and dish soap,
1 liter of warm water

Works wonders and is safe and eco friendly. I try to avoid chemical pesticides at all costs, but there are times when I have to break them out. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

spent all day today canning a bumper crop of green beans from my veg garden. The plants are still loaded with beans not ready to pick yet. Think my neighbors are going to be getting a gift of fresh green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

Contacted the local food bank about donating my excess produce. They would not accept it, only produce from the stores. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.
