In a battle of attitrtion over my vegetable garden with the local tree rat population. Rabbits on the other hand, not a problem, my husband, and friends put me up a nice chicken wire fence that is four foot high around it, and buried a foot deep. Birds and snails and slugs have not been a problem either thanks to the scare methods and traps I have set out.
For the birds, some cheap disposable pie tins tied to a few poles set out worked. Snails and slugs, some traps laid out baited with cheap stale beer does that trick. But those damned tree rats, oh no brazen, cheeky little things. So any that are caught in my garden end up skinned and in my freezer until I have enough for a nice mess of fried squirrel. You would think they would have learned by now that their brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles go into my garden, but yet do not return.
I have even tried fox urine around the outside, as well as my dogs, but that does not phase them. So the final solution became an air powered pellet rifle.
Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.
Ekki hugsa alltaf að ég sé friðsælt vegna þess að ég veit ekki hvernig á að vera ofbeldi.
