Just checked on my 2 remaining gooseberrie fruit and sadly 1 fell off the bush. So picked the other.

Ate them both and wow they were sweet. A little too sweet for me really.

Hopefully next year the other 2 bushs will have fruit on and the main 1 that did have 20+ fruits will have a lot more. Still no idea why they fell off.

I just need to keep my eye on them now and stop the bloody gooseberry sawfly eating everything like they did last year. :P

Gooseberries is the only thing that I have never had luck growing. Though I did get a nice surprise this afternoon when I went out to water. My three azalea bushes are in full bloom, with bright blue flowers.

Last year when I planted them, I added several pounds of rusty nails to the bottom of their holes to promote the blue blooms.
Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

I've just Googled azalea and they look amazing. Bit expensive for me but they do look nice. Good trick with the nails too. No idea they could do that lol.

I've glued this for a week as it's Full Summer and were discussing plants. Enjoy.

Last year when I was growing my lemon seedlings I tried the rusty nail trick and it worked a treat! I was really surprised at that actually.

Sadly they've all died now. Apparently they didn't appreciate moving across the country to the equivalent of a dark closet. That's ok though, I'll try it again another time. It was really cool to try though and I learned a lot from the experience!

Watered the best of my plants yesterday. Just to make sure they get through this heatwave.

My lavender does look nice. It's a huge dome now and yet I still can't smell it until I walk and rub past it lol. Can't wait to cut it when the bees have finished with it. Going to make lavender oil for my diffuser.

3/4 roses looking much better since spraying them for the dreaded black spot. 1 still has some so it will get more treatment when it's cooler.

Cannot water my garden, because we are in a drought condition here. Yet the mayor of my town who lives right across the road from me, was out today power washing his house. I may water tonight. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

I'd have videos him and put it on YouTube calling him out. I bet He wouldn't have been mayor for much longer.

Good luck with the watering.

Got my garden watered. Also installed a drip irrigation water system. Thankfully most of what I have planted in my flower gardens are self seeding native perinials and annuals. My veg garden, yeah that is getting watered no matter what, for the simple fact that is food for my house. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

Talking of puppies. My dog is all grown up and she has now crashed through the netting around my rhubarb and gooseberries.

The netting was cheap and nasty and I was hoping it would last a little longer. Trust me to buy B&Q rubbish.

I'm hoping she won't do any damage as the rhubarb looks amazing. Be picking some this weekend for a crumble.
