Can't see anything in my garden right now as it's under quite a bit of snow but I did notice a few inches of bulb leaves peeping shyly from various points around the place prior to the white stuff.
Tuffty, all your back breaking work in the garden is paying off. Give it a bit longer and you'll have even more lovely flowers to look it.
The crocuses in my front garden seem to have got confused. So far flowers are starting to appear but I can't see any leaves. The dwarf daffodils I planted in the autumn are just starting to come up in 2 of the patches but nothing in the 3rd one...maybe I planted those upside down
Just had to go in my garden today after 4-5 really bad days of high winds and lots of rain to see what damage it's done. Lucky for me it's caused none and the plants have been well watered lol. My Winter garden is looking really nice. I'm enjoying it and so are the insects.
First 1/3 of my garden planted over 2 years ago. Plenty of flowers now. Other 2/3's yet to show much flower as they were only planted last Autum.
As you can see plenty of flowers. I planted 8 per hole. A lot more then 8 this year. Very happy to see all the flowers.
Another patch with more then 8 flowers.
My very first Snowdrop. I planted over 100 to test out the ground and first to show. I can see a few more about to flower. Very happy seeing the first 1. Been watching it for days even during the rain and wind.
This is an odd 1 as I don't remember planting these Aconites in the tub they are in. Nice yellow though but very tiny.
I'm enjoying the garden now and remembering all the back pain.... Got more to plant end of Summer.
As the weather is dry and mild now I'm out digging up things that are not earning their keep and ordering some perennial Fuchsia bushes to put in their place.
Really hitting the 'low maintenance' scheme this year - I'm not getting any younger and want stuff that gives maximum flowering for minimal hard work and will come back on it's own year after year.
Options are limited in our pocketed clay/chalk/flint soil with surrounding trees blocking a lot of sunlight .... but I'm getting there.
My garden right now is full or flowering or ready to flower crocus. They are all over the place. 100's of them. I'm very happy about this as they were hard work over 3 years to plant.
Also 100's of daffs showing. 5 have flowered so far. Pictures soon.
I'm really enjoying my garden now. It alwys looked shit during Winter but now it's looking good. Even my neighbours are happy with it as it now makes theirs look bad lol. They asked me to do theirs I had to say no then laughed.

Forgot to take pictures of my daffodils. so here is 1. Loads of them all over my garden but none at all in the center of the lawn. I have loads of tulips showing but not a single daffodil and I planted 50-60 around the tulips.
The Daffs above were from the same bag and grew.
My raised Rhubarb bed I've just finished. Took 5 hours over 2 days and it should have took 2 2-1/2 at most.
My poor back too.
The rhubarb you can see if from B&Q and cost £5 each. The rhubarb you can't see and I'm not holding my breath growing is tiny crowns that cost £16.
I'm looking forward to eating some but maybe not this year as it needs to grow and establish first.
Grow rhubarb grow.......
I'm still worried about my back lol. The pain this time was on a high scale. 10+++++++ I love gardening but my back hates it.

sucks your back dislikes gardening, good luck with your rhubarbs!!!
as i dont have a proper garden living in a city in england. but my venus flytrap seems to be flowering. however i will have to cut the stem off soon, as the incredibly cold week we had in jan or feb made i very stressed. and it needs to recuperate, and it flowering takes a lot of energy for a VFT.
maybe later in the year i can let it flower. as it very nice to see.
for anyone interested this is what a vft flower looks like
it has a huge stem to keep the bees away from the deadly traps.
