Don't worry too much about the gallstones thing. The Ole Man had his gall bladder out about 5 years ago - keyhole job, in and out the same day and no problems since. The stones can and do cause unbelievable pain though, it frightened me at the time to see the state he was in.

I'm seeing more sabre rattling in the News today about vaccine supplies.

I have had my gall bladder out too. Really quick operation and felt so much better straight away.

The pain can sometimes be really phenomenal with gallstones though, and at the end whilst waiting for surgery I was eating nothing that contained any fat in it whatsoever as it would cause too much discomfort

Now I can more or less eat what I like, apart from cream which for some reason does seem to give me an upset stomach, but no pain like before

While the AstraZeneca vaccine has precautionary been put on hold after 6 health workers has been hospitalised with blood clots, reduced amounts of thrombocytes and brain bleed after receiving the vaccine, there hasn't been found a clear correlation yet. Two of those six have died.

Presently the indication from the investigations seems to be that those individuals received a strong unexpected immune response from the vaccine, with that being the only possible culprit that could introduce the anti bodies needed to cause the blood clots in those particular patients. Though they say no country has reported these symptoms later than 14 days after receiving their vaccine, so if you survive for 2 weeks you're safe .

Naturally the way this has been reported in the news have led people to become frightened and not want to take a vaccine to then spend 2 week anxiously looking for symptomes...

Around 130 000 individuals have so far received that particular vaccine here, so these side effects seem rather uncommon. Though we seem to be on the unlucky side as larger countries with more vaccines such as the UK and Germany have found 5 and 12 instances of the same side effects.

At least from reading up on this it seems a bit more concrete than the early news that went viral of our elderly people dying after their vaccinations due to old age...

Personally I'm so far back in the queue that any conclusion on the "danger" of various vaccines will likely be well documented and conclusions reached before I'm offered the chance.

Although covid related: people seem more annoyed that certain counties are now restricting outsiders from coming to their cabins for easter break, which is unfortunately par for the course ...

A week ago today special needs son had his first dose of vaccine (Pfizer) with no effects.

Friday my wife had her second dose (Pfizer) with a little arm pain and drowsiness.

Yesterday my daughter had her first dose (Pfizer) with a little drowsiness but back to normal now.

I am scheduled now for my first dose (Moderna) on Thursday. Looks like i am odd man out but at least an mRNA vaccine.

Just got back from my first dose of the Moderna vaccine.

My arm fell off and had to be sewn back on.

Just kidding. I did not feel a thing. No side effects so far. A vaccination center had been set up by the county health department at a local senior center three minutes from my house. It was run incredibly efficiently. I was vaccinated within two minutes of arrival. They were vaccinating dozens of people as a waited after the vaccine for the observation period. Kudos to all involved.

P.S. Much earlier on a different thread i stated that i hoped i would get the Moderna vaccine and i did!!! :)

@ Fifi and J enesis Thank you for your reassurance. :) Hubby is getting an MRI scan tomorrow so we should have more information fairly soon.

Back on topic. I'm looking forward to getting the appointment for my second shot although I have no idea when that will be. If England sticks to a 12 week gap for all the vaccine types it will be in mid May.

edit to add: the government ordered some Moderna vaccine and it has been approved for use but none has arrived yet.

Had the Pfizer one three weeks ago, had flu like symptoms for two days, along with lethergy and the injection site was a little swollen and red. Only lasted two days, and then back to normal. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.
