I have to admit I was put off watching SPY as I don't like Jason Statham. Or Jude Law.
The rest of the cast look good though so maybe I'll try to get past my Stath allergy.
Statham actually shows some decent satirical comedy chops in this one.
Finished season 2 of
The Boys
yesterday. Now that we're finally caught up, I can say that this is one of my favourite shows in recent memory. It's weird, it's gory, and it's realistic in how consistently awful people can be, especially when endowed with superpowers. I feel like they could easily end the show at this point, and I'd be okay with that, but I'd love to see more of it, too, as long as it maintains this consistent level of greatness.
I wonder how many of my posts in here start with the words "I watched a horror film last night...." ?
.....anyway, I did:
The Quiet Ones
On paper it sounds pretty predictable and familiar but it's the cast that sets this one apart - Olivia Cooke, Jared Harris and Erin Richards (Barbara Gordon from "Gotham"
and they're all brilliant in this.
I think this was one of Olivia Cooke's first big roles and she's the perfect choice.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
It was okay, but to be honest probably the weakest episode in the story so far - which is a shame, as the preceding episode, 'The Marshal', was an absolute classic.
