Edit to add: Oops, I hit enter by mistake. I want to add we've got the first 2 series of Monty Python on DVD and 2 of the films, "The Life of Brian" and "The Holy Grail". I wanted to show my sons the type of programmes I grew up watching. One of them then requested the complete set for his Christmas present :)

That's great :D
It's amazing how Python has stood the test of time... Holy Grail is one of my all time favourite comedies.

I'm going to admit what's been my "turn my brain off for some background TV while I do other things" show lately. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, but well, it's just not, because it's not good lol.

I've not been someone who's big on background TV in the past, but when I discovered Million Dollar Beach House (2020), man did I ever think no show was ever so perfect for that role. I won't lie to you: it's a terrible show about a bunch of people who are already wealthy (by normal standards) attempting to sell, you guessed it, super expensive beach houses in the Hamptons. Why do I watch it? I keep it on in the background while cooking, or checking my phone, or doing some other light activity, and look up at the screen only when one of two things happens: the one decent dude I care about shows up and has a moment (not very often) or they're finally showing and going through an actual property (even less often) so I can see any unique interior design, architecture, etc. That's it. Otherwise, it's just background jibberjabber.

Again, please don't subject yourself to it. It really is terrible. No, this is not reverse psychology. It's NOT. Don't do it!

Friday night dinner on netflix, i you like laughing, i suggest you give it a go lol.

That's one of those shows I keep meaning to watch but have never got round to it.
I'm sure I'd love it, it's got loads of my favourite comedy actors in it.

My viewing last night... and its back to films as I've finished Cobra Kai... so I watched
Red Sparrow. Great spy story with lots of twists and turns.

Last night I finally got around to watching the first 2 episodes of Netflix's
The Umbrella Academy
(season 1! I know, I know, season 2 just started...). It's well made and well acted, gradually introducing new plot elements as it goes, and I'll be interested to see where it ends up.

The highlight of the evening, though, was the first episode of the new series of Amazon's superb
The Boys
- which is just as gory, irreverent and well done as the first series. Antony Starr in particular is absolutely brilliant as the real villain of the piece, the superhero Homelander, but Giancarlo Esposito is also wonderfully bad in a supporting role.
