I decided it was about time I revisited The X Files.... it's been many many years!
Watched the first couple, still really good viewing.

I put The X Files on hold last night and watched the first episode of " Lovecraft Country "... it's a slow starter but if anyone decides to watch it, hang in there because the last 30 minutes or so are crazy.

Then I watched the re-released remastered "Pitch Black" - one of Vin Diesel's earliest films and absolutely brilliant.

I've been watching Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra lately simply because we didn't have cable when the shows were on the air and I was told that I was missing out. So here we are lol.

I've found that Legend of Korra is kind of challenging the suspension of disbelief that I had when it came to Last Airbender. Maybe I missed something, but the sudden jump from a feudal society to a 20s-ish steampunky world seemed a little odd to me.

Watched the first episode of 'Lovecraft Country', the new series from HBO.

Wow. Superb.

Brings home the reality of segregation in the Jim Crow South of the 1950s, and gets progressively darker, stranger and more violent as it goes on.

Absolutely looking forward to the next episode :)

Footnote:
I'd create a discussion thread for the show, but frankly there's no way it wouldn't descend into discussions of racism and political correctness. Which is a shame.

True Arch, it'd be unavoidable really. Lovecraft was a nasty piece of work in some respects, and the series has already alluded to that but I'll just concentrate on the story.

I did something I rarely do last night, I abandoned a film half way through: The Devil's Rejects.

I knew from the director's reputation and reviews that it was going to be a bit of a gorefest... but that's all it was. It was boring.

Followed it with more vintage X Files.

I watched several episodes of Supernatural. I'd thought it would not be available after today but we were wrong. It is still there but I'd now have to pay £2.49 per episode or £19.99 a season. No thanks. I liked it but not
that
much! Especially as the complete seasons 1 - 13 are available on blue ray DVD for around £90 and I'd decided that, although that's reasonable for the amount of content, it was more than I was willing to pay :P

Star Trek: Voyeur, the first half of the one where the crew tries to steal a transwarp coil from the Borg, and Seven of Nine
decides she wants to rejoin the collective
.

I was eager for part 2 to follow afterwards, but instead they broadcast a completely irrelevant episode. :|

Last night I watched Project Power on Netflix.

Not bad... but not particularly good either.
It started with a good idea - a pill that gives you super powers, but there's a catch - it only lasts 5 minutes and you have no idea what that power is going to be.

It turned into one of those films with loads of action but no real substance and it struggled to keep my attention. The soundtrack was awful too, modern autotuned rap-lite that's out of date as soon as it's recorded.

TL/DR - it passed a couple of hours but I can't recommend it.
