I used to love that show back in the 70s. If I remember my trivia, it was going to be Bruce Lee in the role but the studio wanted a more established star.
I'm watching a great series at the moment:
The Kominsky Method
It's about an ageing actor who now teaches acting.
Nice gentle comedy and it's the cast that really makes it, with Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin in the main roles.
Was Bruce Lee known in the 70s?? I know he was big in the 80s, I wasn't interested in his movies though.
^Actually Rooh is right. Bruce Lee helped create the TV series Kung Fu and he was supposed to star in it. But fortunately David Carradine was cast as the main character.
To me it is so inspiring because of Caine's wise sayings and his peaceful way of living. There is more I can say about this TV series but it would take too long lol.

He was really well known in the 70s. After making a load of small budget martial arts films his first big international success was
Enter The Dragon
in 1973.
He also achieved minor fame in "The Green Hornet" (1969) playing Kato.
It would have been interesting to see his take on "Kung Fu" but there again it's hard to imagine anyone but David Carradine as Caine. I think there would have been a lot more action and less philosophy with Lee.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

Attempted to watch Army of the Dead (2021) on Netflix. Got about 40 minutes in and decided to watch something else.
Oof.
Yeah I gave up on that before the end too, terrible film and wayyyyy too long.
I watched an old scifi film last night:
Hardware
(1990)
One of those that's managed to age quite well, a combat 'droid is accidentally re-activated after someone finds parts of it in a post-apocalyptic desert.
Good story, really good cast (including a couple of nice cameos - Iggy Pop as a radio DJ and Lemmy as a cab driver)

In 40 minutes I didn't feel like there was any sort of back story to the characters. There was absolutely nothing that happened. It was awful. :L I'm disappointed, and terrified of zombies.
And in the beginning? Oh my
god.
How tf is a group of what I assume to be special ops soldiers NOT ABLE TO MAKE A HEADSHOT AT POINT BLANK RANGE??
Arrr! Only th' Devil an' I know th' where'bouts o' me treasure, an' th' one o' us who lives th' longes' should take i' all.

Most action movies are like this. Main hero against a dozen or more bad guys, good guy may get shot in leg or abdomen once while he shoots everyone.
