I'm not a fan of horror films but I used to watch them late at night on the TV with my Dad when I was a teenager/early 20's. I remember being really creeped out by Quatermass and the Pit.
edit to add. It must have been in the 1970's

I loved that film. Even though the 'special effects' are really dire by today's standards I'd happily watch it again and still get the heebie-jeebies.

Watched Final Destination this evening (the first of the series). I'd have watched several more but they're pay to view on Amazon so to hell with that. The inventive (not to mention gruesome) ways that Death catches up with the victims amuses me :D

On someone's recommendation I watched His House (2020) last night... and didn't like it much.

It started off with quite a promising idea but just became more and more confusing as it progressed. Maybe my attention wandered at a vital point but I was left a bit baffled.

After that I finished off the last few episodes of Truth Seekers , the new spooky comedy from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
Well worth a watch, it's a bit slow at first but stick with it.

Last night I watched an old(ish) film with Jennifer Lopez as a woman with an abusive husband trying to escape with her daughter: Escape (2002)

The plot isn't very original, there are other movies with almost the exact same story, but J Lo is always good and her husband was suitably creepy and nasty.

One thing bugged me - she somehow goes from absolute novice to martial arts expert in one month :P Oh... and she seems to mysteriously pick up expert burgling skills along the way.

A bit far fetched but definitely worth a watch.

More horror for me last night: The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018)

So many possession films around, but this one manages to put a new spin on things, recommended if you like a good scare.
