It's totally going too far all this PC crap.

Lets get back to the old days where no one was offended with anything.

Who is ever coming up with these stupid ideas needs to stop. Millions of kids have read Roald Dahl's books over the years and now change them because of a few words...... Idiotic really.

Let them well alone and other books..... :@

A no for sure. (Just keep the books how they are.)
Censoring this much of the real life is pretty harmful in the end so far I experienced.

You can safe bubble children for a long time, but one day the time comes when they need to face the real world and they are not prepared for it!

There's also the point that every work of literature is both a product and reflection not only of its author, but of its time.

Re-editing them years later removes all that value from the work.

If you go looking for it (and far too many people do) you can probably interpret something in most books as offensive. The world has gone crazy.

Just waiting for someone to object to Sherlock Holmes because it sounds a bit like "homes" and is offensive to homeless people.

Thats a really good point and the reason that this sort of editing shouldn't go ahead.

Otherwise all sorts of literature can be edited and changed in the future.

I agree with this 100% If you don't like the wording in a book don't read it. This also applies to the editing of other works such as films. I also think "trigger warnings" on works being studied, especially at university, are often overdone. By the time you are old enough to go to university you should have the ability to realise you might read some challenging material...that's what university is all about.
