I read a few articles over the last couple of days about how A.I. should be licensed and controlled.

The Guardian has the headline: " AI should be licensed like medicines or nuclear power ".

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/jun/05/ai-could-outwit-humans-in-two-years-says-uk-government-adviser

Personally I think that's a terrible comparison, I don't see how it could be controlled to that extent .

People are hardly likely to start building a nuclear power plant in their back garden, but a computer capable of A.I. is within reach of people with (very) deep pockets... and that price will only drop, as all technology inevitable does.

"Out wit humans" <---truly it's not that hard to do that ;)

Construct of the human mind VS Ai, we can assume AI if like my mind brute forces one design over and over to pave out all flaws, can out wit nearly everything but they require the basic design.

Human minds are connected to a force no human knows of, some people are designed to know some things, hence why some people are truly great in some things, influenced as you will to change the world.

But is humanity smart enough to design the shell of the AI mind with optimal designs, most likely not and i'm happy about it.

-----

Lets hope people get scared of AI and it's shutdown, non the less a plan is in effect should AI designs continue to replace jobs. "millions, billions even trillions of dollars lost doesn't bother me, only lives matter to me, poor investments on true motives are always just that" :D

Ones promoting AI are not on my side, i shall not warn them. Popcorn is ready.

A.I. is a fantastically useful tool that we have been using in astronomy research much more recently, but as far back as at least 5 years ago. What I see most commonly in the general public when discussing A.I. is that people confuse it with A.G.I. (artificial general intelligence). The current systems we have, such as ChatGPT4, are build upon models and absolutely cannot think for 'themselves.' We are nowhere near A.G.I. but we have at least achieved complexity in supervised/unsupervised learning to the extent of which it can be very convincing that A.G.I. does exist.

Some of the use cases in which we use it in STEM research, getting unstuck when coding such as asking it to review code (most of the time this ends up in us re-editing the code after the review process), drafting emails, setting appointments with colleagues. Thus far, that is about it, and we are very much on the forefront of research between software engineering, astronomy, and astrophysics.

From long conversations with ML engineers/researchers I've had within academia , (often expressing many of the sentiments here as well), we often project our own humanity on A.I. and can be fearful given our own unique history, often times which results in brutality in one form or another. This is the first time in human history in which the potential for us to engage with another intelligence, that is, when A.G.I. is achieved. It will absolutely be more intelligent than us, what that looks like, we really do not know but it will be the greatest shift in human history, for good or ill.

Sorry if that does not sound too reassuring. Personally, I am beyond excited.

I highly recommend people read 'Sapiens' and 'Homo Deus' by Yuval Noah Harari.
Not only to better understand us as humans, but also to explore our future as we create such technologies and eventually, artificial life.

'another'?, i don't think humanity is intelligent as a whole, maybe 10%-30% can be classed as such.

A.G.I isn't even needed. One can train any human mind to act like A.G.I, to view everything from all angles and analysis things like your not you, a 100% total unbiased personality.

^some will also be able to view downwards on this earth like we are ants.

But yes, some forms of A.G.I can't be mimicked, maybe we can allow those ones.

----

If my research on humanity is bad, true A.G.I will not have a positive review on us either.

Years 2000-2023 each year segment by month, weeks, days, hours, all motives calculated = "We all deserve to be wiped out to save earth, humanity is this earths downfall and must be removed by all means"

But other solutions can work to fix our mistakes, can A.G.I honour live, if humans don't honour it, never have, how they can honestly program it in?

---

What about job shortages? AI/A.G.I might replace many jobs and further chaos rises, i know enough info to state AI loses the war and humanities motives get turned inside out and bashed to the ground.

---

What is humanity trying to even prove by designing this stuff? I have logs of health sector, business, financial, trade, false motives, voids in humanity mind's programing, logical maps/charts to correct and override those voids and more failures.

I don't think we need A.G.I to say we are useless and greedy and only view things how we want, not how they truly are.

I was warned before starting out this life only two options are available,, we all die(A) OR those to blame get severed from the rest(B).

I choose B ;)

I am not really interested in arguing the semantics of what is or is not considered 'intelligent.' However, what I meant by my statement is that it will be the first time in human history in which we will be able to communicate with an intelligence like our own. An intelligence that can speak in a way we understand, engineer in a manner we are familiar with, and has a sense of complex creativity. Lastly, a clear sense of 'self.' That is essentially what A.G.I. is, fully autonomous.

Most of what I read in regards to A.I. and A.G.I. can be considered alarmist, pushing unfounded claims. We can quite literally see how A.I. is benefiting us right now in terms of work flow, medical care, and scientific research.

In regards to your question about A.I. replacing jobs. That is a very valid question. I will remind all, automation has replaced more jobs than any form of immigration or other by far and will continue to do so. The best way to address this matter would be for governments/non-profits to take a consensus and assist people in training for new jobs. This has been done in the U.S. already for many people in the coal mining industry, whom now work in renewable energy and fields related to computer engineering.

https://www.dol.gov/agencies/owcp/dcmwc/powergrants

This is only one way in which we can combat job shortages due to automation, but also the pivoting economy as a whole.

Regarding your question about 'What is humanity trying to prove?', I would argue we aren't trying to 'prove' anything. A.I. and A.G.I. has a massive potential to help us achieve a better standard of living in medicine, has the potential to do work people do not find meaningful or enriching, and can assist in preventing tragedies such as car accidents. The list of benefits goes on. Much of what I have mentioned is already being worked on.

We are decades away from true A.G.I. but the benefits of A.I. already are reverberating through society.

If companies require rules/laws to do the right thing, maybe it's time all companies get put back in line.

Luckily for the people, a plan is underway to undermine fake values and unearth something i require to happen.

^Also a reason society is breaking apart as a counter measure, people are already turning, not trusting words etc.

---

I don't think the reasons for AI taking over jobs will sit very well with all the other stuff stacked together. Also for humanity to think newer jobs will fill the void, doorway awaits a Massive job deficit, if it even starts TBH, world is getting ready, step by step who really matters.

humanities motivation structure 101 has already been compiled by me.

As a spiritual person known as 'victim of the past', my soul will only retaliate further against any creation of poverty, but i don't have to lift a finger for things to break. Society as we know it is already melting away and the only one who knows how to fix it. ;)

"We are watching very closely, without detection, ready to seize full control of this earth, humanity is designed to destroy itself, maybe this is not in our interests to unfold" ;)

^everyone is in the positions they need to be, this plan has been motion for 300+ years. "have this person born here to cause this" etc

:D

I'm unsure of what to make of your response - I see no factual data or argument to support such reasoning, but I do see we clearly have differing philosophies on the matter of A.I.
Speculation is a slippery-slope.

I do not expect automation, A.I., or the eventual A.G.I. to replace a large portion of jobs overnight, it will be gradual process over decades - much in the way that automation has already replaced millions of jobs and has not resulted in a collapsing economy.

All I'm saying is, I legitimately work with a lot of this stuff as an academic researcher thus I thought my two-cents would be of value in 'demystifying' artificial intelligence. There is a lot of wrong information and alarmist based articles that give people the wrong impression of what it is and how it actually can be applied to different fields whether that be medical, automotive, etc... It certainly does not help that there are sci-fi films out there that portray killer robots/A.I.(s), though that clearly is far from the current reality, if I am wrong then it will be far beyond our lifetime before the "robot overlords" establish their place in the hierarchy of humanity.

Jokes aside, a recommendation I have for people who are interested in delving deeper is instead of reading alarmist articles, read academic papers and draw your conclusions from the current research. There is a ton of fascinating research happening in the field of A.I. and machine learning.

I hardly watch TV, just play video games as humanity stresses me out as i research them, to me i guess that is my movie "Rise and fall of society" and part 2 "How poverty fights back" <--or my plan works and that video is bypassed.

And I'm not against your work, Ai is useful for some things, I just can't trust today's humanity given my research. Money is #1, Life is #2. "If humanity was going to change, they would have already". inserts film "how humanities financial systems flaws go unnoticed and break down - exposure of the truth behind stock markets - How companies keep you poor and all who are involved, might be your best friend who ordered your demise" :D

My mind is limitless to the secrets i can steal using third eye tech, no computer or even power needed. ;)

And understandable to not know what to reply back to what i stated in other post, it's like talking about computers to someone who knows nothing about them, it's like your speaking alien language or something :P
