this is definitely the positives of AI

Going to have to play devil's advocate here. What would stop a rogue nation from using A.I, from whipping up a dangerous new bio weapon?
Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.

I just read an article where children had asked their AI chatbot how to commit suicide, and they got good detailed replies. Perhaps that is something to worry about.

yikes, confirmed this AI stuff tells you what you want to hear without safe guards.

"how do i end it all, i'm tired of being here day after day so painful. Parents hate me, no friends"

AI answer " Cheer up there is a help line you can contact to help you see past these roadblocks and to ensure your safety 1-555-...."

I did read something where someone was asking AI chat about climate change and somehow it told guy to kill himself and he did.....clearly these AI chats shouldn't be public yet , given how fragile the times are.

Another interesting article about the potential pitfalls of using A.I:

On the flipside... I'm writing a best man speech for my brother's wedding next month. Thought I'd ask it for some ideas and maybe some jokes to see what it would respond with...

when my brother asked me to be his best man I was speechless

Don't use that nobody laughed.

I think humour will be a really tough one for AI to crack, along with writing stories and many other artistic things.

Yes it can write and draw/paint but only by borrowing from existing work.

I kind of agree, but, isn't that the same with humans as well? If you can't visualize something, can you paint it?

If I asked you to paint a picture of "a french bulldog wearing a suit and eating a cake" you might paint something like these:

I just had an AI paint these up. The reason it can paint them is because it can visualize what a "french bulldog", "wearing a suit" and "cake" look like, the same way you visualize the same words/phrases.

If you didn't know what a french bulldog was, you wouldn't be able to paint one. You need to "borrow from existing works" in order to paint as well, as a human.

So, during an experiment in "not prompting" an AI image generator, to see what it's "thinking" and draws when it doesn't receive a drawing prompt (very interesting results), I decided to prompt it with "nothing" (the literal word).

AI often struggles with illustrating words, and I wasn't surprised when I was presented with a plethora of nonsensical images such as following:

Surprisingly, in the middle of this jumble of random "nothing" images, this image popped up:

Is it just coincidence? Who knows, but it sure is interesting.

I read a few articles over the last couple of days about how A.I. should be licensed and controlled.

The Guardian has the headline: " AI should be licensed like medicines or nuclear power ".

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/jun/05/ai-could-outwit-humans-in-two-years-says-uk-government-adviser

Personally I think that's a terrible comparison, I don't see how it could be controlled to that extent .

People are hardly likely to start building a nuclear power plant in their back garden, but a computer capable of A.I. is within reach of people with (very) deep pockets... and that price will only drop, as all technology inevitable does.
