Edit: A few people have feedback that the number of reserves on this thread is excessive. Perhaps, I might've misjudged the number of reserves I needed. I planned on doing a history section and a page to list quotes from players that I've found interesting. But thank you for being so kind in your feedback, I've noted it and will consider it when planning my next thread.

Oh I wanted to save a page for history of LGBT, another page for human rights violations and then another for quotes by the forum community.

I found that my other thread (not related to the topic) had too little reserves, so I felt like it was a lesson learnt, haha.

Yeah, it does appear to be rather obnoxious to have 50 reserves :P

I think it's great that this post exists, thanks for making it! This is definitely an issue that deserves discussion, both within the gaming community and without. While I have never personally faced discrimination in the gaming community as a member of the LGBT+ community, I have observed it and have heard many stories. I feel that many of those instances stemmed mainly from ignorance and stigma, rather than from hatred, so a civil discussion can do nothing but improve things. Proud member of CE, filthy casual.

I am sad to say that I have. I have seen people get stigmatized and told that what they were doing was unnatural, gross, even though they were just holding hands and having fun together.

Politically, my country's views are very open, and protect against hate crimes while providing for LGBT people. Sadly, the people tend to lag behind. It's as if the fact that gay people can marry, that people think they can be rude.

I'm sad that people are against it, or that it has to be made into a point, but I am glad that it is legal in my country.

• Do you believe that homosexuality is caused by genetics or environmental factors?
I firmly believe that it's in the genetics of people. It has been proven time and time again that gay and bisexual couples are natural, and not a defect of some kind. Penguins, to name one example, oftentimes have gay couples who don't procreate, but adopt babies of other penguins, who either can't or are unwilling to take care of them.

• Is there an adequate representation of LGBT in the media (including gaming industries)?
I believe there is not, but it looks like it is changing for the better. I still find that most representations are either stereotypical or portrayed in a negative way.

• What're your views on gender-neutral bathrooms?
Got one in my home, would love to see them everywhere.
