My boyfriend and I were very happy to hear about Australia's survey to legalise gay marriage.
Let's hope the PM doesn't reverse it this time.
Hoping legalising Gay Marriage is our early Christmas gift for Australia!
Yes, Christmas is looking to be the deadline for the legislation to be put through. And that's only a month away! The media seems to be saying that opposition in parliament seems to be dwindling, as pretty much every electorate had a majority yes vote, even in the conservative pollies' districts. I am glad some of them admitted they were out of touch with the people, and hopefully that means they don't bog down the legislation and debates with nonsense.
Exactly. Legalisation doesn't make it an obligation for everyone regardless of sexuality, and neither does it mean criminalising straight relationships. It just adds another option, which furthers true equality.

At some point, future generations will learn about the need to push for equality and they will wonder what all the fuss was about.
That very sentiment can be said for many things for which this world has fought hard. It's unfortunate that a large number of them have yet to be settled.
I'm still rather optimistic that the world will eventually grow tired of hating everything that's different for the reason that it's different—at least a few.
XY decided to refer to the pronoun "It" now and give it a try
and then he missed out that information on whatsapp and he was really hated for using the wrong pronoun. That's what I've heard.

A humourous spin on gender identification. However, I do know a few individuals who genuinely don't mind using "it" for themselves simply because they are either unsure of their sexuality or transitioning.

Didn't really follow the vote, but from what I saw many who voted no were concerned about tertiary issues like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. Some (or most) of that is probably just deflection, but it's worth mentioning.

I don't live in Australia, either, but I'm hoping it goes well (favorable) for the LGBT living there. As for Visas and minor other issues, that's just political nitpicking and doesn't outweigh civil rights. Plenty of other countries have dealt with it, and "traditional marriages" run into similar issues -- and there are far more straight people than gays, so it'd be an incredibly lame excuse to deny LGBT couples the right to marry one another over something that stupid.
Here, I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret!
I'm so glad America is making a ton of progress towards LGBT, I am straight male, and I hate how you all are not free to do as you wish "in the land of the free" because your lifestyles differ from what people in representative spots don't agree with, the best part is, it doesn't whatsoever effect them.
