English teams definately pay over the odds alot more regularly than others but I do remember Juventus paying 90m for Higuain, who is undoubtedly a good player but 90m? I don't think so.
I also remember Real Madrid signing a player called Illaramendi or something similar for 30m+ was a lot of money at that time too, who incidentally I ain't heard of since his move. Bayern with there 30m offer for Hudon-odoi is far too high.

As said though english prices are ridiculous alot of the money coming from the SKY Tv money and abroad TV deals now who have no care in the world for fans who turn up and without them, SKY and so wouldn't get the viewers they get. Football without fans is nothing, its something that really gets under my skin that.

Problem is it's only going to get worse before/if it ever gets better, it'll just end up like the yanks with there baseball/NFL with far too many adverts, when VAR eventually comes in, you can see it now, adverts will get played while they come to there decision

Believe Real Madrid is buying Diaz now instead of risking other clubs coming in for him during the summer when he's available on a free transfer.

Some of these relatively young players madrid has bought in recent years (Vinicius jr, Ødegaard, Rodrygo, Asensio etc.) soon has to step up though as all their star players are getting on a bit or are constantly injured.

Transfer fees are ridiculously high, but as long as clubs are prepared to cough up the cash it's only going to get worse.

It's not just English clubs either, PSG payed £198 million for Neymar O_o

In other news.... Rooney arrested for being drunk and swearing.
You can take the lad out of Liverpool....
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

Definitely don't think Odegaard will be making it, was on loan in the Dutch league last season and didn't exactly set it alight and just checking where he is now, hes there again this season different club, looks slightly better on paper but I ain't seen anything of him and I'd assume if he was on fire you'd of heard more.

Relatively speaking Ødegaard is doing decent this season with Vitesse (who to be fair is an upgrade to Heerenveen where he often played in central midfield instead of on the wing), but not producing as many goals or assists as people want him to.

His mistake was going straight to Real Madrid with all the hype that gained him - if he'd taken a progressive approach in his career and gone to netherlands or maybe Belgium and attempted to make his way from there people wouldn't be writing him off as a "failed wonderkid".

Hopefully the start of there season falling apart :O

Very suprised but also Very happy to see Abraham turning down the chance to move on loan to Wolves and stick with Villa, most of us at Villa seemed to of accepted that he is 99% off, he was 1/10 with SkyBet yesterday morning to be joining Wolves, the Wolves fans were EVERYWHERE on facebook giving it the big 1, I saved a couple of posts, just incase it was too not happen and it worked out

Good decision by Abraham imo as he's far better off in the long run by getting regular playing time at Villa than sitting on the bench with the odd appearance for Wolves, just look at Traore.

Bet he regrets staying now ;)

He'd be 1st choice at Wolves too, Jiminez is having an alright season but Tammy would be ahead imo, they wouldnt of been offering 120k a week otherwise

Been ages since I posted, Villa appear to of fell apart :@ the loss of Grealish seemingly being the biggest problem, the midfield lack so much creativity without him, theres no urgency, the wingers offer nothing, El Ghazi is very much hit and miss, looks better when Grealish plays as it opens up space for him

McGinn being the only midfielder looking worth his wage atm, Mings looks class, Kalinic is still settling in, has looked good at times but also dodgey, needs time to adapt

Grealish will be off in the summer, big transfer window ahead, would love to get Mings in permantley, depends what he wants, roll on next season...?!

Glad that Liverpool crumbled lately, got a £40 bet on with a friend at work Man City would finish above them....looked dead when Liverpool had the chance to go 7 clear if they beat Leicester
