It's strange how few scam calls I get compared to my Sister and Brother. They get loads.

I get 3-4 a year thats it.

Most of the time I'm logged into my computer and goto a site to check their number which takes seconds. Then know they are scamming or trying.

I don't fall for it and ask them to hang on as postman is at the door and I need to get the parcel. Put the phone next to the TV and leave it lol. No idea how long they stay for. I just check a few hours later.

Makes my day though knowing I'd wasted a shit load of their time.

I get so many that I'm thinking of ditching my landline, I can't remember the last time I used on it and calls to me are rare... everyone uses my mobile number.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

We keep the landline because we're a small village and not a high priority when the mobile mast goes wrong. We were without a signal for 10 days a couple of years ago.
We have a phone on the landline that screens calls. If the number isn't in the inbuilt phone book the caller has to say who they are and press a key ( I think its # ). The call will then be put through and we can accept or reject it. They can leave a message if we're not there. This means that no automated computer calls get through, its wonderful. The phone will show all the calls and we can check the number or it will say it was witheld or unavailable. We used to get a lot of missed calls, sometimes several in a single day, but now its maybe one or two a week. I think the scammers are getting the message the call won't get through.

^ That bit got me - I really laughed.

We keep a landline too partly because I'm Old Skool and just like it and partly because we're a bit rural so coverage can be spotty.

I loathe those pondlife scammers, I usually resort to screaming down the phone that they should go forth and multiply.

Oh, yeah, and I've just been diagnosed as having Rosacea. I mean ... c'mon. People usually get that in their 20s or 30s - here am I damned near pushing up the daisies and I'm cursed with a boat race like a beetroot.

Well, I don't suppose I'll ever have to buy rouge again. I hope it doesn't go into the gooey pustules phase but knowing my luck my face will be dripping down the front of my Christmas jumper before long :@

Just leaving you with that delightful mental image. Enjoy your week, one and all !

Yesterday the Ole Man presented me with an Air Fryer because, says he, they're really economical. I need another kitchen gadget like I need a snowboard but, okay, I'll give it a go.

The claims in the bumph with said dinky little toy is that one can cook a full roast dinner for 5 people in it. WHAAAAT? I've had bigger boom boxes than this thing, it's puny and at 11L capacity it's supposed to be a fairly "large" one.

There's a little skewer thing with it which would do nicely to impale a budgie but a full size chicken? I think not. Even hacking the bird to bits and laying it on the trays was a squeeze. Then it had to be removed and kept hot while the roast potatoes were done (part boiled on the hob). Vegetables were a mystery so they went in the pressure cooker, again on the hob. You can't make gravy in it and cleaning it out afterwards was a nightmare.

So big thumbs down from me on Air Fryers, just a load of faffing around and I probably saved 20p on the electric, if that. I suppose they're alright if you want to cook some frozen chips (which I don't use) or some sort of ready meal type thing but I really don't get why people bang on about them being so excellent.

My husband bought a ninja foodi multi cooker which can air fry, pressure cook, steam, saute, slow cook, grill, roast/bake and dehydrate. You have a choice of two different lids to put on according to which cooking method you are using. I told hubby its his toy so he can use it.
So far he's used the air frying and pressure cooking. I can see it might save money as its fast to heat up due to being smaller than an oven but when he also puts the oven on to cook something else or warm the plates...... O_o

Air fryers are amazing.

I've had an stand alone Air Fryer for well over a year and use it several times a week. I hardly use my main oven now. It will do anything and faster then my oven. Must be cheaper to use too.

I also have a Air Fryer Oven still in a box lol I just have no room for it right now in my kitchen. It even does a whole rotisserie chicken. I so want to try that lol.

I just need to remodel my kitchen by getting rid of an old fold down table and replace it with a kitchen sideboard or something.

Also this is a must have. Get some air fryer liners. They save on a lot of washing up. Trust me I use them and they are great.
