Glue a couple of wooden blocks (feet) to your extension cable so that doesn't happen again.

Congrats Arch, have you considered using outsourcing sites such as Fiverr or Upwork?
I know somebody that makes £5 per 300 words. Fiction writers would be desired on there.

Oh Lord no.
The writing is a hobby, not a job, and tbh if I was going to make it a job the last thing I'd do would be use Fiverr or Upwork, which don't give creators of any kind the sort of income that they could get from being more professional.
~~~~ Just another victim of the ambient morality ~~~~
Making a hobby into a job can sometimes backfire. A friend used to make all sorts of 1/12th scale miniatures as a hobby. She was very good at painting the miniature "china" dinner sets ( they were metal blanks ) so she turned it into a small business. She ended up hating doing the painting and making them to order. It put her off her previously enjoyable hobby. She gave up the business several years ago but she still hsn't got back to doing miniatures as a hobby.
I'm taking a break from giving the oven a thorough clean. I've finally found out how to take 2 layers of the glass out of the triple glazed oven door so they can be cleaned more easily. Its going to take me at least another hour to finish it.
Tip of the day...Don't catch your sleeve on the microwave oven door when removing a bowl of freshly cooked porridge. Scalding hot milk/oats on your hand hurts a lot.
Thank goodness I was able to quickly get to the tap and run cold water over my hand for several minutes. That happened several hours ago and there are some sore spots on my fingers but no blisters. Phew!
edit to add:I took off my wedding ring within the first couple of minutes jic my hand became swollen. I'm glad I did because 2 of my fingers were a bit puffy for a couple of hours.
