But it is hardly different than other examples found in normal conversation.

For instance, if some random person called me a Bitch Ass Hoe, I would assume they are insulting me. If my husband called me a Bitch Ass Hoe, I would assume it is friendly banter and I'd probably call him something derogatory back. One is okay to incorporate in everyday conversation and the other is not. It really isn't all that difficult.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

Probably not a good thing...

I was pampering my feet today, they get a bit dry in Winter I suppose because I wear socks a lot or whatever.

I started looking at them from different angles and realised I'd never really looked at them before. Despite many years of routine maintenance on them and intermittent nail painting I'd never contemplated them as seriously clever bits of kit.

So then I felt compelled to stand in front of a mirror and examine them in different positions and from different angles and it led me to the conclusion that feet are weird.

That was my epiphany for today.

[But lets not conflate that, which is usually to give you a tanned appearance you could otherwise achieve by a sun destination holiday or a sun-bed (so its essentially a shortcut), with what I was more referring to which is things like Blackface etc. Two very different things with different intent.
You can't lighten your skin in the same manner without makeup. There is no "anti-sun bed". :P

What do you consider "Blackface"? And what is the "etc", is it "Whiteface"?

What if the intent of "Blackface" or "Whiteface" isn't malicious?

What if it's part of your culture?

Or what if it's intention is comedic?
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great! :)

If it's socially unacceptable for one race to say it, then its socially unacceptable for any race to say it. If you're claiming that certain races can't say certain words, but other races can, that's textbook racism; discrimination based on race.
I'm afraid that just isn't reality. E.g the use of the N word is a perfect example. Based on its origins we as a society do not use that word due to how offensive and inappropriate it is and rightfully so. However, it does get widely used by black people in the black community so who am I (as a white person) or you (if you're white) to dictate to the black community whether or not they should or shouldn't use that word? Why? Because I/we can't use that word they shouldn't be able to? The world doesn't work like that.

Again, context, intentetc all matter with these sorts of things.
Okay, for starters, that IS how reality works. Words have meanings. No matter how you justify it, or try to explain it, if the ideology discriminates based on race, that's literally racism, by the very definition of the word. Context or intent is irrelevant when asking the question "does it discriminate based on race?". It's a boolean answer; it's either "yes" or "no". If the answer is "yes", then it's literally racism, regardless if you agree with the ideology or not. You can't just change how words and definitions work because it doesn't agree with certain ideology.

It's fine that you believe that's how the world should work (as you're entitled to your opinion), but, you also need to understand that's it racist, because it's literally discriminating based on race.

Secondly, the origins of the word literally translate to "black", and have roots in both Latin and Spanish. Or as some theorize, it may be Tuaregic in origin, meaning "river of rivers".

What origin did you think it had?

Actually, I'd never thought about it like that.

It's like a law which declares "If you are Black/of colour you cannot use this bus/toilet/Park because it's only for White people". Which is, of course, racist.

Except this be "If you are White you cannot use this word because it's only for Black/of colour people". Which seems to be another law based entirely on race.

One law is decried whilst the other is upheld. Applauded, even.

Doesn't seem very logical.

Lets not bring logic into this Fifi. You monster!

Edit: I saw a reddit thread about a similar subject that made me laugh.

It should be called "When woke goes whack".
Of special interest are the comments that are collapsed because of downvoting.
